bones, no good pics. here's pretty much all i got. i put solid red street tires on but regret it now, porkchopped the pedals, porkchopped the seat, got a NOS GT piston stem and since this pic put on an NOS suntour chainring. the parts that came on it were kinda cheap IMO and were more pink than red. the pedals were purple. this is the same with the white ones. you could get the grey one cheap and have it powdered white or any color and still have a decent bike at a decent price.

84Mach1, your blue PK looks just my 82', miss that bike.
The blue is Mr Ripper's. The polished is mine. That pic was taken at the Santa Monica Pier. PK Rippers are the GOD of BMX bikes.

thanks. the VPs are meh. i like them better than the wellgo pedals that came with the bike. the wellgos were more purple than red and didn't match anything, not even close. someone over at SE really needs to get their F'n eyes checked.

I like the price on VPs, and am wondering how well they grip.

Re: What Is It About Looptails?
the VPs grip is really awesome. you'll never have to worry about slipping and ruining your shin unless you land like an brown eye and only have an inch of your foot on the pedal. in that case your shin will be ruined. the spikes are big and sharp. i can't comment on the strength, i just don't ride like i used to and have never had this bike more than like 3 feet off the ground. i would also feel like a jerk putting them on an old school bike.

That is pretty amazing, but there is still plenty of time for this thread to go south! ![]()
On yeah -- with the exception of a very few old school models which I will never be able to afford, I'd have to go with a USA-made Kappa -- which I will never be able to afford! I suppose I'll stick to my Robbies with their half loops, making me half-looped like my boy Jason said I am!

Hmmm...They definitely look custom. PM Squirrellbite, the resident Kappa guru. He might have some insight.

^i actually bought the sticker set from him, for that Kappa. Now I know what they were used for. The original owner of the frame put a bannana seat on it for his g/f. He needed those tabs to mount the rear hardware for it....I never thought about those things.
