Re: anyone here work for**BUSH Polishing & Chrome**in Garden Grove

Price sounds appealing. Anyone know how thick the chrome finish ends up? I've got a JMC f/f in need of rechrome, but it would be a shame for the welds and JMC stamp to be filled with chrome.

Do the old 80s bikes look like that? I think you'll be ok, they know what they are doing wink

125 bucks is cheap. --especially these days with all the chemical recycling fee's shops (by law) must pay.

OWL:  then i asked about them plating for GT..they said, GT, Powerlight, CW and some other ones...then he said they did all the Chroming for all the bikes that where made here in the US...

Gary:  im lost bro..hahaha...but im digging the Pic

They also did Torker too. So $125 to chrome a frame is pretty affordable. Remember, with this kind of thing you get what you pay for.

Just make sure you tell them to be nice to the welds and stampings. You will be happier with the end results. This goes for ANY shop you take your goods to to have stuff done.  At least with Bush, they have been doing it for so long, they pretty much know what to do and not do.

wink

Dave re-chromed some hubs for me and they came out great. Hes got old old BMX stickers all over his shop. He's a real throwback. haha.

One frame damaged that we know out of possible hundreds or thousands of frames chromed. I'd say that is still good. As long as Bush stripped the chrome, repaird the grinder mark and re chromed all should be good. The guy with the damaged frame never did report back about getting it taken care of.

It doesn't matter their track record, or how many frames the shop has screwed up.
Point here is that the shop let the frame leave damaged.
They either don't care or aren't paying attention to their work.

We don't know why the guy didn't update us on the status his
claim with the shop. There again, he shouldn't have to have a beef
with the shop. The shop shouldn't have screwed up his frame.

Feedback and track records do mean a lot, but at any given time
a seller/shop/etc can drop the ball and start providing crappy service.
