OK, finally finished my first build, PK Ripper

i still plan on changing out the seat for a kashi or elina and the retro pad for an OS pad, but it stays like this for now. my budget was $1500 and looks like i easily hit $2500 (who would've known how much things really add up to) so those items will have to wait for little while. but now i got the rider i always wanted and finally have something worthy IMO of submitting to the museum. enjoy.

Re: OK, finally finished my first build, PK Ripper

thanks guys. i love this bike so far. yeah, better seat and pad will have to wait 'till after this cat gets to the vet and then i have to buy a new computer. always something.

not going to thank all 15 or so members i bought a part from but would like to give a big thanks to the members that hooked it up in the WTB section. mongoosefs1 for the FF, nickyturbo for the seat post, and jonny77 for the seat clamp and pedals.

also thanks to the whole museum for raping me. one day a year ago out of the blue thought about bikes, bought a retro PK and then found this place while googling cranks for it. saw the nice bikes and got hooked.

ha!!

$1500 my foot....
Unless you find serious bro deals on every part.  lol

A bike like this...with the parts you have....$2k minimum.

The frame/fork and cranks are @ a grand???

Good looking ripper.

So....seat, pads and  I would add a 1 or 1.5 inch riser too.  So that is another $250-300 loltongue

Mo money, mo money, mo money

tell me about it. the original plan was to buy pretty much all nice parts but in rough condition, build something that looks like it was sitting outside for years. just couldn't bring myself to put anything ugly on the frame i got. mongoosefs1 hooked it up with a lot nicer FF than i was expecting so i blame him.

Yes, I raped yo...um er', hooked u up in the WTB.  lol  Was thinking they looked familiar.  Thank you too...as I have a hard time lettn go of the nice stuff, yet it just stays packed in a box in a drawer somewhere.  Better to see it on someone's pride and joy.

Nice PK!  Same thing happened to me...bored one day on eBay and found an '82 PK frame/fork.  $3400 later the bike was finished.  Definitely not a cheap hobby!

yeah, i'm still experiencing sticker shock. at least i don't see it as spending money. you spend money on hookers and blow. this is just converting money into a more fun form than a boring number on a bank statement. as long as you aren't beating on things or using all NOS parts your money is still there. my reef keeping hobby was a total waste.
