All right children...

I just came back from a bike ride to the skate park and back on the OM Flyer and I can say without a doubt I'm NOT a cruiser guy...  26" is definitively not for me.

First $ 380.00 takes it...  Picked up or delivered to the next ride.

Wow!!  A deal.

Juan....I dont own a cruiser.  Thought about snagging one sometime in the future.
I feel comfortable on 20 inch bikes too.

What did you not like about it?
Is it comparable to riding a mountain bike in the city?  That is what I think it might feel like.

Anybody can chime in..

Wifey is off this coming Sat.
Anybody riding?

Re: BMX Faction Florida State Rider's Club

Well...  To me it feels like a mountain bike in size all right, BUT the ride is too stiff and the cadence is too long compared to what we the 20 inchers are used to...
I think is perfect for a ride like Critical Mass or the 9 mile Key Biscayne strip, but if you are used to a faster turning bike or if want to do your little jumps and stuff you'll need to grow some chest hair down under tongue

I loved the seat though cool

Re: BMX Faction Florida State Rider's Club

NEVER let it be said that Juan does not hook people up. That was a helluva deal!

Well, Cory had the biggest class, something like 68 riders, and he ended up with #14. Kai ended up #6, and I got #3. It was a pretty nice weekend, no rain and not too much wind. The track was in awesome shape and the racing was fast. I went 2-3-2 in my motos and got 4th in the main after hitting the gate and coming out dead last. I almost passed Jeff at the line...if the track had been a couple of feet longer I would have gotten him. Oh well.
I got to see a few of our BMXMuseum peeps there- Steve Outrunm, Bill SilverHW, Chris Hutchking, Chuck NPSArider, Dino BMXMadness, and one of the guys I met at the Fling who's name I cannot remember...I think his handle on here is something like 07A  ? I'm terrible with names.
Anyway it was a fun time, and thanks to everyone for the good luck wishes.

Uncle Pete!!  lol

Two things...
1) I have several wheelsets that need building.  Need some extra pocket change?????  tongue

2) i have never raced before....but want to start.  Is the track near you?   Is there a novice grouping?  I think i understand the basics but are classes offered?  I am not trying to table top jumps or anything....just looking for pointers.

Thx

Taco! lol

1. Yes! big_smile

2. Yes. Yes. Kinda...there are beginner's clinics that are usually full of 8 year olds that you can try to pick your way through, or you can just come to the track with me and I'll get you going in the right direction. The track is only about 15 minutes away from my house, and now that the state season is over it will be a lot less crowded- perfect time to learn.

I had 1 wheelset for you when we first met....now I have 3-4.  lol
After these...I am done.

I will deliver em to you. You near Pompano Beach or West Palm Beach?

8 y/o's!!  lol
I dont want a thread like that surge guy who wiped out a kid at the track...on video.

I have a 2002 ish pro concept...that was gonna be used to race.  but it is in storage back in ATL.  I will ship it the next time I visit ATL.

Or...ride my 84 Cali.  But I fear it wont hold 180 lbs.

What do you ride at the tracks?
Is the track 15 mins north or south of you?

Hey Taco... The way kids are going these days, you would have accomplished something huge the day you can race them wheel to wheel...

For some reason this one comes to mind...  I'd like to think this is how we old crooks look like (Unless you are Pete) lol

Haaaa...cool video! I haven't heard that song in ages, forgot how good the Police are.

Taco, I'm in Boynton Beach, just north of Boca and Delray. The track is just north of me on Forest Hill Blvd. in Okeeheelee Park. I ride a Standard cruiser, and I'm about to put my 20" race bike back together.

Re: BMX Faction Florida State Rider's Club

I believe it.
Initially it might be impossible to keep up with an 8 year old.   I have never raced a track...I am curious how I would perform though.....winded and a blown out knee.  lol

Great video.  the beginning is soo true.

Pete...you should be less than 30 mins away.  I made it to West Palm in 30 mins before.
My nephew plays basketball for West Palm Beach State College.  Sophomore
My other nephew plays for U of Miami - Linebacker.  Freshman
I have a lot to keep me busy come fall.

NS or OS 20 inch?
