I knew a guy that thought Dorf was a real....ah...little person. I asked how he thought he could fall back and spring right up like that. He didn't know.

Re: how to lose more weight on your bike??
Ti bolts in everything, remove the fork compression bolt, carbon headset spacers or trim excess steer tube, ditch the detangler for a linear straight cable, cut axles down to be flush with the end of the nuts, if you're running 25/9, drop to 23/8, drill holes in bb cone spacer, drill holes in bb tube spacer, Ti spokes and Alloy nips, radial laced front wheel, rim plugs instead of rim tape, strip all paint and stickers.

Don't forget the added weight savings your wallet will feel in the process. That should count for a few ounces!

Re: how to lose more weight on your bike??
This better?
Replace all steel bolts with Titanium bolts
Once your headset is tightened down, remove the fork compression bolt.
If you must use spacers between your stem and headset (for handlebar height), use carbon fiber, if not, trim the excess length off your steer tube.
Take off your detangler setup and use a straight linear cable.
Cut the excess length off your axles so they are flush with your axle nuts when everything is snugged down.
Downsize your gear ratio; smaller chainwheel, driver, and chain means less weight.
Drill holes around the cone spacers on the outside of your bottom bracket.
Drill holes in the tube spacer that goes between the bearings in your bottom bracket.
Replace the steel spokes and brass nipples with Titanium spokes and aluminum nipples.
Radial lace the front wheel. The shorter the spoke, the lighter the weight.
There are companies that make little plastic or rubber plugs to plug the spoke holes. They are lighter than rim tape.
In dog beers I've only had one.

Re: how to lose more weight on your bike??
My kind of topic. ![]()
Here's the real deal.
1. Install 2 Eclipse tubes. World's lightest. 39 grams each. Saves about 3 oz per tire. My friend has been riding them for 2 months at Cranx Bike Park and has had ZERO problems. He goes HUGE!!!
2. Before you install those tubes take out the rim strips and use Velo rim plugs. The yellow ones. Saves 1 oz + per tire.
3. Ti bolts in the stem will save another 1 1/2 oz. Get them cheap on Ebay (china) free shipping. $14.
4. You might not want to do this one. Grips are heavy! 5 or 6+ ounces for a pair. Get a pair of Titec grips. They only come in black. They weigh 15-18 grams for the pair!!! Unreal right!
5. The only other way I can think of to save weight without changing the look of your bike would be to go with a lighter seat post- seat combo.
Right there should save about a pound + without changing the look of the bike very much at all.
That's it. Tubes are pricey. Expect to be shocked. But they are repairable and nothing is lighter.
CHeers.
EDIT**** I know you said you don't want to switch tires out. But consider going with the KHE folding tire.
It's several ounces PER TIRE lighter then the Powerblocks.

Re: how to lose more weight on your bike??
I would go with new tires, probably Maxxis Grifter tires, really light weight and pretty nice. That's what I ride. Also a hollow chain and try the Fly Bikes Cobra tubes. I heard they are pretty light weight and strong.
Need a COMPLETE set of old Standard STA decals. Hit me up if you have them. Will pay decently for them

Thanks, on the tire note i just sent back the HE foldable street tires bc they were 1 oz heavier then my powerblock...the park ones are lighter but heard they wear really quick
all this info is great and I will do some of it w/o a doubt but like I said its gotts stay comfy, thats why its a hard goal to reach.
Ti bolts will be ordered tonite

I know, d1ck comment. But really, what is the purpose? I'd start by taking every peg off that I don't regularly use. Get rid of the comfy seat and use one of those stupid race seats.
But honestly, I'd just ride it. It looks good, and that is a respectable weight for a bike with four pegs.
Good luck on whatever you decide to do.If you grind, then I'm at a loss.
I use Tree Balsa pegs on my flat bike, and they are lighter than the plastic ones I replaced them with. I don't know by how much, but you can feel it when you pick them up. But I wouldn't use them to grind with. If you like to grind, you have to pay a weight price, period.Animal Butcher pegs, go buy them and thank me later

Cobra tubes are a temporary fix so you can continue riding if you get a flat and don't have tools to remove a wheel. They aren't meant to be your primary tube choice. They're also heavier than the standard Dan's Comp tubes.

the lightest street block tire is 18 oz. i dont know where you got 12 oz. from you can go alot lighter. khe folding street tires are 13.5 oz.
the khe folding park tire is 9.8 oz.
changing out the tires for 2 khe park tires in 20 x 1.90 will shave 1 pound by itself.

Re: how to lose more weight on your bike??
You could change the cranks to a set of profiles...
Primo Hollowbites with TI spindle = 28.2 ounces (33 oz for cranks for cranks - 11.1 ounces = factory spindle, Ti spindle = 6.3 ounces. so a savings of 4.8 ounces with Ti)
Profile GDH splinedrive with Ti spindle = 24.4 ounces
Also go to the Ti tanium bolts for it that shoud save you another ounce at least. ![]()
I know you said you dont wanna change your seat and seatpost but...
Fiend seat + Shadow post = 19.3 (seat = 11.9 ounces + shadow post 7.4 ounces)
Stolen thermalite seat+post combo = 7.7 ounces. http://www.danscomp.com/470233.php
Heck that is almost a pound right there!!! Do some of the other tricks people have talked about (the light tubes etc) and you could get her down to under 20!
