Dude the tires are fine. It's just overspray from the epic spray bomb job he did on the truck! Check out the white doors and sill plate in the other pics.

I think we need Keith to chime in and let us know the best way to get bikes in and out of the arena. Will we be able to ride around this venue like we have at the others.

Re: North Carolina Riders

We have an entire area for Vintage Bikes. Please check the site www.transjambmx.com for event info and parking information. The festival encourages this, I'm fact. In order to get the close parking nearby you need to email my wife Dani at info@transjambmx.com and provide your name, and you'll be put on a list to enter at Gate 4.

Thanks, Keith

The Raleigh TransJam is included in what appears to be a local festival/carnival. Take a look at the site for the event itself: http://www.gottobencfestival.com/

Now have a look at this snippet of the schedule for Sunday, 5/20/2012:

http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n53 … ne/tjr.jpg

I'm not sure about you guys but I'm definitely hitting up the "Garden Tractor and Lawnmower Pull" at the "Walmart Grandstand" from 1 to 7 PM. loltonguelol

Those look like they all must be events at the fair grounds though. I think I would be hard to bring bikes if the trans jam is inside dorton arena. It's mostly seats if you've ever been there.

Used to watch (woooo!) ric flair kick some booty in there when I was a kid. They used to have hockey games in there as well pre-hurricanes, the team was the Raleigh IceCaps

OK. So my car wouldn't start this morning. I wish I could ride my bike to work!!!
May have to postpone some builds to get it working again. I think it might be as simple as a relay, but who knows.

no electronics on bikes. That's a good thing!

I needed brakes and other stuff for a bike I bought off a member here. Been putting off buying anything for it because it's not here yet. This is one time it paid off to procrastinate. Unless the bike never shows up. lollollol

Ha - I'm no veteran either....I'm not sure what it takes to get in trouble around here. Certainly mentioning the name of a well respected purveyor of reproduction BMX parts could cause no harm, I would hope?? big_smile

Re: North Carolina Riders

I can give you a 101 on getting a "ban" warning! lollol

As of today, I start riding to, and from work. I think it's 17miles, or so, one way which is really pie, but I had a close encounter with a Caddy. He almost brushed me, and give me that hand-in-the-air treatment. I bet he wasn't expecting the light to catch him! Pulled right to his window, and politely let him know he almost got me, and what do I see in his lap, that's right, a beer. He just kept his eyes forward, and sped off when the light changed. Went through that intersection, and saw a bloody switchblade in the middle of the road. At least the flowers smelled good. Not bad, made it in 59 minutes. The Quadangle was my weapon of choice. big_smile

Hazards of the road bro.

Be careful man, people will take you out without blinking.

Back in the early 90's I road my mtn bike 10 miles to and 10 miles from work everyday for a year.

You got to be on your toes at all times.

The road bike guys are just plain retarded.

I wouldn't ride out there with those nut jobs unless I had too. lol

Re: North Carolina Riders

One of the hard core road bike guys got run over about a mile from the house over on hwy 49 last year. I heard he biked to work in Charlotte from Concord every day. That's a divided 4 lane where he got hit. Not even a tight two lane. But those guys ride like they own the friggin road. It's a wonder more don't get hit. Riding two abreast with their cute little brightly colored, tight bicyclin' uniforms.hmm
