Re: Too old?

hey burke, welcome to the Museum! cool

You said you used to live in Canada.... but where do you live now?

Go to the Events section and see if there's a local group ride happening in your area. That would totally get you motivated and get you back on track. I quit in 97 and tried to come back in 01, but the old school scene sucked at the time. They only had Rockford with some old farts but when I came back last year, I was surprised at how much OS BMX had grown. There are now group rides and swap meets everywhere. I'm lovin it!

Keep riding!!

I've seen that top photo before.  One of the sickest pictures I've ever seen.

I'm 43 and can do more than I used to and progressing. My gf laughs when I say I'm old ensuring me I'm in better shape than most people my age. Its all about getting out and riding not using that crutch I'm too old.

Re: Too old?

feeling out of shape is the body's way of saying "Get out and ride!!"  after a few months you'll wonder why you ever stopped - if you're just get back into it, i have three suggestions:  stretch out before and after, tylenol, and lots of ice...  welcome back to the madness!

Thank You!  i thought it might be just a NorCal thing - when both wheels came off at once, it was a real or true bunnyhop.  i guess if you think this way then it shows your age lol!

Re: Too old?

47 years old, 30 years away from the bmx scene, but always into bikes of any kind even though I am out of shape. like it has been said before the key is to just keep riding. once you stop your body will go on vacation like mine did.

Re: Too old?

Well I started off slow so far. I'm learning foot jam endos, properly bunny hopping ( I can feel when I di it right and get about 1 ft off the ground. I'm kinda scared of tucking and busting my balls tho. Also need to get better BMX shoes) and riding fakie.

I just found out that my back problems for the last year have been a pinched nerve so I'm taking it kinda easy, just having fun with it. It's amazing tho everywhere I look now I see lines and tricks to do.
