Tange 'Excellent' MA-60

Tange FS headsets.The additional white and black cups are made of rubber to prevent corrosion and water from seeping into the bearings.

This is a NOS Tange MX2 headset, manufactured in Japan by Tange Seiki Co. Ltd http://www.tangeseiki.com/. They are still in business, however, my guess is they no longer manufacture in Japan but now have factories in China and Taiwan.


I tried to look up Patent# 590986 which is written on the side of the original product box, but could not find any information related to it.



On top of the lock nut the following is engraved; JAPAN, TANGE, MOTOCROSS and a "*" style stamp between each word.



The headset came with the following components; Lock Nut, Lock Washer, Adjusting Cone, Stationary cups, Crown Cone and Ball Retainers.
