Are you gonna put a layback seatpost on it and Chicago the bars?
They are great to look at while having a beer as we all wanna relive our youth yet after all is said and done if you actually want to ride a bike and be comfortable on it move on.
Mid-New school bikes rule, it is so awesome to at 40 learn new tricks at the park, on the street, on the track or at your local dirt jumps.
We ain't getting any younger, either get busy living or get busy dying.
Dude I'm only 5'7" so it feels the same now as it did back in the day.
I ride just as good/bad on my 85 Master as I do on my 2011 Sunday.......its not the bike its the man riding it that counts.
And bmx will have its peaks and valleys but it WILL NEVER GO AWAY.![]()

I am an old school rider, bmx and freestyler and still have a kick @$$ time doing both. It will never die in my life time.
I do agree with the above post about flatland kinda hitting a wall. I can't ride like that so it keeps me going. I still like the old days of flatland. Mcoy, Eddy, Martian, Wilkerson, RL. Pete L. Terry T. Tommy B. Fuzzy, Griggs. Hell ya

Expensive re pop old school parts are been made so NO!!! IT'S NOT DIEING OUT!!! It's growing!!! Check out the street park scene!

BMX as a sport and as a whole is very much alive.. only flatland, as one aspect of bmx, is dead when they start using brakeless on all their tricks and using same geometry design frames
no more uniqueness of the bikes and tricks ![]()

Re: Is bmx dying out or picking up?
Yeah but it seems like people aren't passing it on in my area. I remember when I was a kid all we did was ride are bikes...we lived it! Your bike was like your car. You guys know what I'm sayin. Nowadays when I'm out and about I hardly see any kids riding bikes. They all want to play on the computer or their cell phone it seems. We tried to tell my friends son to get a bmx bike for his birthday but he wanted transformers ![]()

Re: Is bmx dying out or picking up?
Old school collecting wasn't that big to begin with. If anything now.. it is larger. Now there are old school riders in other parts of the country (not just Cali), that actually meet up and ride instead of just drink and sit at a bike show. Now riding meets happen monthly and sometimes even weekly for some areas. 5 or 6 years ago all there was, was the lame Rockford show.
I'm sorry I don't kiss a$$.
black and chrome parts, the way bikes should always be.

I disagree as racing is one of the smallest facets of BMX.
There are a hell of a lot more riders hitting the local parks, trails and streets on a consistent basis than the local tracks.
Maybe I am as the politicians say "misremembering" but hasn't this always been the case? Racing always seemed like a small faction of the BMX community as a whole.

Maybe if your knowledge of BMX doesn't date back before 1985. ![]()
In the 70's and early 80's BMX WAS racing. Everything else was "riding" until the next race.
Wow. ![]()
