REDLINE CARRERA

Oh yeah.....since I've sold off four Prolines in the last three months, I've been aching to get a new one added to my collection.   This landed in my lap!!  BRAZED Dropouts for the frame and fork.  Also just like my other Carrera has PROLINE II decals from the factory.....funny

Japan made Carrera!!

Most of the parts that were on it were trashed, so I upgraded with what I had lying around from my other Redline builds.  Anyhow, enjoy!

Killer. The flights, takagi/ Sugino spider (or whatever) and rat traps is one of my favorite combos.

Good question!!  I have no idea....got it that way on a complete hmm

Now I recall the seat and grips were thrashed because of storing upside down in a shed.

Re: REDLINE CARRERA

Both of those bikes Scream Speed Bro! The Chrome one really caught my eye. I love the seat tube angle on the Redlines made for a more comfortable ride IMO,  a bit more roomy. I love it.

Re: REDLINE CARRERA

Sweet Redlines!! Great job on both of them!cool

The red 81' reminds me of a bike that a buddy of mine had back in 81'-82'. It is almost an exact replica! I always wanted to ride it but he never let anyone ride his bikes.sad

It would be hard for me to pick a favorite between the two......I love chrome, but the red one just screams vintage to me! Very cool pair!

Re: REDLINE CARRERA

Thanks for the props bros.  I've always loved Redlines.  My buddies all had them and I had a DB and a Robi and a Kuwi BITD, but I was always jealous of my friends cuz they all had Redlines tongue

Re: REDLINE CARRERA

Great bike Warren. What cracks me up is that you have sooooooo much cool stuff laying around you can just build it in a day when it takes the rest of us 6 months! Great bike to add to your massive collection!

yep, is it a 34**** serial? the tapered fork came a little after the frame around March '81 or so.

I think they came with this fork throughout the 36**** numbers smile

Re: REDLINE CARRERA

Warren, i've seen mostly 34**** serials with tear drop forks. going by my serial collection, 36**** serials are mid to late 1981 with the tapered leg, flat bottom drop outs. but i guess it's still possible for redline to be off loading the earlier fork through 1981 while they still had them in stock, or retro fitted at dealer level  smile

part of the fun with this hobby is some of the mysteries of what went on back then big_smile
