Decided to put this bike back together. It's pretty much as it was when I first built it. And by that I mean that most of the parts are the original parts and not ones "like" the ones I had on it (although there are a few of those. Thanks Chris!). This bike has a lot of symbolism for me so its something I can never sell, nor did I want it "refurbished." I wanted it looking like it did when I rode it. Rebuilding it is also a rife with symbolism in that I "rebuilt" my BMX world about a year ago. This bike was the one that I rode when my BMX world mostly came apart. Long story. Some day I might be talked into letting Rick fix the drop outs, but likely it will remain like this.

Yep, Black RL Hub in perfect working condition with a Standard axel. 14k gold plated spokes, Peregrine Super Pros and Indy Industries Pegs. Wish those were ACS tires, but alas they are Odysseys.
http://fameusedesign.com/bikepics/shorty/IMG_0409.jpg

Shimano Deore XT brake, Graveyard sprocket and GT platform pedals. The cranks aren't original. Originally it had Boss cranks and after that PMCs that I broke. Went with some cranks I probably would have put on it. That aint no "london mod." that is the original real deal that I invented and had Luke Newens make for me. (to be fair, I think a lot of guys invented the same thing around that time).
http://fameusedesign.com/bikepics/shorty/IMG_0410.jpg

PhilWood hub, 14k gold plated spokes and a Peregrine Super Pro rim. Indy Industries pegs and Standard forks.
http://fameusedesign.com/bikepics/shorty/IMG_0411.jpg

Couldn't find Some ATI pistol grips in clear red, but I would have put these pink ODIs on anyway. Dia Compe MX-99 levers are new and set up backwards just like I did then. Standard Strip bars are not originals that I had. Snafu cable set up is new, but a lot like the cable set up that me and Luke Newens came up with back then. GT Epoch Headset is original. GT stem is wrong, but I couldn't find a quill Redneck. ACS Boa brake is original.

Re: Standard Bykes post, lets get one started!! Post your bad a*s SBC's

Hello ladys and Gentleman. I am planning on doing the ultimate bike build for a very deserving personand yes it will be a TOTAL CUSTOM SBC. This build is top secret. This person is super deserving and needs some good karma coming his or her way.. We have a huge plan for this, but this will not be a cheap build, so we are asking for help. This should be a build to remember and talked about for some time. Only a selected few know about this.... So if you can spare $5, 10,50,100 trust me it will be worth it!

Please paypal us at ORANGESVTFOCUS03@AOL.COM and you can not use the word donation as for they will shut us down. just type in "secret build" so we know what that is for...

Thank you and stay tune

Just got off the phone with Jess @ SBC.  Ordered up my custom trail boss.  Pretty excited about it, now I just have to forget about it so the waiting game doesn't drive me crazy

Specs
Trail Boss frame 21.25
C/S 990 Mounts
14" rear end slammed
3/8ths dropouts
Old school gusset
same stand over height as the original Trail Boss
clearance for a 39 tooth sprocket and a 2.125 rear tire

I have been picking up parts for it too, so I may post up some eye candy as I get it in.  My wheels should be done tomorrow.

Love it.. Specs sound spot on. New school frame, mid school geometry. Exactly what I want if and when I ever do a custom. The sprocket clearance and stand over are nice. Post the parts up and progress, can't wait. What color is the frame going to be??

Thanks.. Great deals..

Im deciding to go with Sun BFR's in chrome and a suntour 48 coaster on the back since I already have the guts but a unbrake!

you know,
Its not hard at all to make an unbrake. Some profile washers will do the trick...

And....if you don't want to make an unbrake I have about 50 of ours left from the 90's when we made them.

Raw frame. All black parts except real tree camo hubs. My wheels are built, I picked up an odyssey fork.  All I am lacking are a few small pieces. I am trying to pace myself so I'm not just sitting on a pile of parts waiting for the frame to be done. I will just keep taking my 97 trail boss to the trails until my frame gets here.

Right on man. Raw n black is always killer. And those camo hubs you got are sweet. Sounds kick ass.. And nothing sucks more than having all the parts and no frame.
