what old school bmx is this
hey everyone. this is one of my old school bmx's, i have had this bike for about 10 years and i used to ride it to school everyday. this bike has the same frame shape and dropouts as all these brands: Hot Foot, GT BMX, KUWAHARA PANTERA, SCHWINN PREDATOR, Malvern Star Blue Diamond and the CYCLEPRO GREG HILL, this is from all my research and most of these bikes are from 1983. this bike just could be one of those but i dont know which one, thats why i need your help. this bike has tange handlegrips, aero araya rims, sealed bearing suzue hubs and shimano pedals but i dont know what handle bars it has and also the head stem, so i need help there to. i have the original sprocket as you can see in one of the pictures which is ready to repainted. in the picture of the number stamp you can see that someone has welded over the numbers which makes this very hard to identify. it also doesn't have the stamp on the right rear dropout. oh and dont worry about the badge on the front of the bike, i put that on there.
i hope you can help, thanks for reading. michael

Schwinn or Akisu frame. What is the serial?
You know, Roy Munson has two chances to win this tournament now...slim and none...and slim may have just left town.

Re: what old school bmx is this
The welds don't look as good as the Predator/Pantera/Greg Hill, also the serial numbers should be on both drops for these... It actually looks like something else.

Stem looks like a forged SR. Japan should be stamped below the minimum mark, and SR marked on the quill.

Re: what old school bmx is this
That could be the bike shop sticker. Many bike shops put there stickers on the seat tube.

They did make some, and started as Aussie made I think - then went to generic frames as did a bunch of other companies. Tange made frames for kuwaharra, cycle pro, suparoo, the list keeps going. Giant were the same, they made frames for a bunch of people, that is their dropout...
Sad thing is - the build quality actually improved when they stopped making their own frames ![]()

Re: what old school bmx is this
so mine could be a tange or giant, which is the original brands or all the others with the same frame and dropouts. and what you said about the build quality is true because my frames welding is not as great as the Hot Foot, GT BMX, KUWAHARA PANTERA, SCHWINN PREDATOR, Malvern Star Blue Diamond and the CYCLEPRO GREG HILL.
so mine is a tange or giant. thanks for your help ![]()

Re: what old school bmx is this
No - it isnt tange - I was just using tange as a comparison company who made a heap of frames for different branded bikes.
That dropout belongs to Giant. Tange never made hotfeet.
That bike is a Giant made hotfoot.
