Someone school me on pedals
I'm restoring a trickstar. It came with victor clovers - I believe that's what you call them. It's a bear trap looking pedal. Now, I'm sure the hutch purist will say get some bear traps and call it a day but I'm not sure I want to go that route.
What are some of the other pedal manufacturers from the mid 80s that were coveted and would look sweet on the trickstar (other than the hutch brand)?

You can never go wrong wth a set of KKT Lightning or MKS BM-7's. Just about everyone ran those after they had to get stitches from the Bears.
WTB: Left Maxy Cross arm 170mm any color or condition. Sunshine rear sealed hub(s) in blue/silver, red/silver and/or Gold/silver.

No offense but actually those are both horrible choices for a freestyle bike but if you like them that's all that matters.

Re: Someone school me on pedals
I like to pick what I think is right, and, if it's expensive, then, I find a more entry level version, and use patience to get the real deal item affordably.
Whenever someone says, "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart," all I hear is, "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart."

Re: Someone school me on pedals
I just want something that is consistent with the bike, era correct, a quality piece for back in the day, and not hutch bear traps. There have been some good suggestions. Thanks!

Re: Someone school me on pedals
What wrong with the Victors? They work. Would I use them on a contest entry? Probably not. Would I use them on a bike I ride everyday? Abso-fkk-in-lutely. Your nor getting an extra $90 of performance out of Shimano's no matter how much smoke get blown up your ass.

Re: Someone school me on pedals
^^ no doubt. I dont disagree. I'm not stuck on crazy unique parts. However, the victor cages are well busted and I wanted to go a different route on this build.
