Re: 2011 DK General Lee 24
It now is my bike (well soon to be)
The bike had a freewheel issue from day one but as it seems it finaly let go. I dont have specific details. Once I get it here and opened up,Ill update this or start a new thread, since I plan to make some changes to it anyway ![]()
I can say for the price, its a nice bike, and the free wheel issue is small in my eyes.

Its is actually rideable still but it will need replacing somewhat soon.

My little brother has a DK intervol, and since he got it the freewheel kept skipping. I put an aftermarket ACS one on and it's great now. What made you sell the bike after a couple of weeks?

Traded it and I am getting another cruiser that matches the 20" that I traded for. ![]()

Don't buy it if you ride hard, or if you're going to ride it at all. Thanks a lot to midschoolersbro and Bipolar for testing this bike and letting us know not to buy it, I'm glad I waited to see if the hi- ten. frame would hold up, or else I would have wasted $200 on scrap metal.

Re: 2011 DK General Lee 24
It's a shame too because if they had put on a freewheel that wasn't crap and didn't skip a lot and had spent a little bit more on chromoly parts and sold it for a little bit more, it would be an awesome riding bike, instead of just an awesome looking bike.

That's why I bought it to test it out. I took the risk for the money to see how it did.

Re: 2011 DK General Lee 24
i use to have a general lee 24" i ordered from dans comp. i remembered 3 months later the bearings in the rear wheel locked up almost if it was dry and over tightened. i emailed dk and they sent me a new wheel no questions asked. so dk is good with there parts. but i wonder if that wal mart brand dk is worth it cause i would love to have another one since my other one was stolen

Well like I said this one cracked so maybe I just had poor luck but I personally would not recommend getting one.

If you want a General Lee, get one of the ones that were made before 2011. Those are completely different.

Well, there's the Cygnus 24". http://shop.dkbicycles.com/DK-Cygnus-Tr … =salesrank
$319 is a great price for a full chromoly 24". It has a cool Standard- looking gusset too.
