USA Machine Works

Ok, so I've never heard of this company.  I'm sure plenty of people have seen the pedals on eBay from the notorious re-popper.

Did this company exist in the 80s?  I would never buy anything from that seller, but I'm just wondering if there are original versions of these pedals around?

I'll post a couple links if people don't know what I'm talking about.

I had never heard that but it sounds feasible.  The bodies are pretty much identical to the old JP and Crupi bodies.

Re: USA Machine Works

i heard bullseye was having pedals made for them by a machine shop in cali. they look alot like them. tie the two together. makes you think. has to be a connection to all three in some manner.

Re: USA Machine Works

cage looks thicker than jp cages..I doubt those are from the 80's. Been on here for 4 years and I have never seen one of those. If those really existed in the 80's I can guarantee you its here at the museum. That seller is full of it. She/Hes claiming that they found em in a storage. Yeah right

Re: USA Machine Works

So I did some digging on this after seeing these pedals on ebay too. I asked the seller azstyle1 for info on their pedals.
Here is what I got.
-"Hello Chris, Thanks for the contact. I received a few sets of these pedals from a asset recovery firm auction. They were apparently left over inventory from a bankrupt or defunct company. I did not know the value for pricing(Neither did the seller)and went off similar items sold on ebay to sell ours, I may have missed out on money as I've discovered they are quite valuable/desirable. I know that there was an entire case of these up for sale originally and there are none left now. Our pedals were quite old and it was easily discernible. They had fading and age related wear. Hope this helps you. Good luck and good fortune. Maureen- azstyle1"
This in reference to these pedals.

Re: USA Machine Works

IMO those are recently made in a machine shop. I've worked in shops and you can make or copy anything. I think somebody made up the story to go with them just to sell repops at NOS prices. Not the first suspicious stuff seen on ebay. If something looks like it was made yesterday there is a good chance it was. That's how I feel about it. After 20-30 years steel rusts and aluminum corrodes even in good conditions. Parts get shop wear and the white paper backing on decals turns yellow. I personally think there is a lot more repoped stuff out there than you guys realize. People just want the parts so bad that they buy into it.

the stamping is lame, the colours seem off and the cages are too thick and why are there no minis or squares? ... its harder to fake an entire line.

Re: USA Machine Works

I almost bought a set of these right when they first showed up on Ebay. I'd never heard of the company before, but I thought they might have been a small company that only turned out a few sets. But now I've seen probably 10 sets sold on Ebay since then.
They look like nice quality, but I think somebody is currently making them and trying to pass them off as new old stock. I would rather put my $300+ dollars toward a nice set of original Hutch pedals.
Maybe they are from the late 80's, but it seems that with all the knowledge of everyone here in the museum, somebody would have come across a set before now.
