1976 Race Inc.
1976 Race Inc.
1976 Race Inc. frame (work in progress)
I got this for like $10.00 out of my pocket. He thought it was a Race Inc. and so did I till I discovered it had no brake bridge and a long gusset behind the seat post mast. It is a Race Inc. after all. ![]()

Re: 1976 Race Inc.
I think Race Inc. frames are some of the most advanced frames of their day.

Re: 1976 Race Inc.
Yes earnie I will, what color? I have no idea yet. What I will do for sure is dip it and clean it up then weld in the holes that the dumbass drilled in it then weld on a new seat post mast. So this frame wont be riden unless I absolutly positivly no sitting on the seat at all. Or a show bike strictly. This restore will be a spendy one lol. Looking at the year to make this a correct restore will take the highest end race stuff from the late 70's I am going to have to hunt the ends of the earth just to find em then give blood and limbs to pay for em lol.

Re: 1976 Race Inc.
First off....nice frame, I really dig the early Bill Bastian aluminum frames. Secondly, that's not an FMF. ALL FMF's were manufactured with an oval hole in the headtube gusset to differentiate them from the early Race Inc's. I believe what you have there is a '76-'77 Race Inc....

Re: 1976 Race Inc.
One of my old friends brought one of these frames from California. It had no brake bridge.
He sold it to another friend of mine and then Race Inc frames started showing up in our local bike shops.
Great old classic.
Good luck with the restore !!!!!!

Message to ABOMBONE
I have seen a Cycle Pro Spoiler with an oval slot or cutout in the headtube gusset.
I have a Cycle Pro Spoiler but it does not have the cutout like the Early FMF or the Cycle Pro.

Re: 1976 Race Inc.
My buddy had one without a brake bridge in 1978.
It had an aluminum clamp that bolted to the frame to run the brake
in the normal position.
