1981 Cyclops Burner

Australian Build Cyclops BMX

My little cousin was cleaning out he's garage last year when he asked me if I needed another bike.. in a laughing comment.. I said yeah... looks like a difficult resto... but I will have a crack at it when I get some spare time.. little did he know that I was going to finish off this project for he's b/day!! Enjoy..

Re: 1981 Cyclops Burner

I am a huge Oz BMX fan - I like that one !!

I'm surprised it has box style bars - looks too early for Oz stuff.

I liked it better with the spider - lots of Oz BMX had bad chain wheels - that unrestored spider looked like a Malvern Star Maxi !!

Cool bike big_smile

Re: 1981 Cyclops Burner

my guess would be a hand paint on the badge and a new sticker set,
in any case it turned out looking straight off the floor, maybe better.

Find a hot yellow "burner" pad yet?

Re: 1981 Cyclops Burner

how'd you cover up that missing blue chunk on the seat tube?

haha, I've use my girlfriend's nail polish sometimes for quick touch ups.

Re: 1981 Cyclops Burner

That is an excellent job. Seems like that pad isn't in that bad of a condition, maybe a good washing and have someone talented with a needle sew some new velcro on. But then...you probably already thought of that.

Re: 1981 Cyclops Burner

This looks really great! Nice bike and nice photos, too. The yellow knucklesaver grips and the yellow era seat make a nice accent to the tires smile I approve and added it to the faves!

Ride on, Kosy-moto! ^_^

Re: 1981 Cyclops Burner

Amazing build of an old Aussie classic - top stuff!
I had a Cyclops back in the day and it had the same box handlebars.
It must have been made of pig iron because it weighed as much as a car lol but it was an indestructible tank of a thing and my first BMX.

Well done. cool
