Wow. Thanks for commenting Gary. big_smile

I just found out about running a spiderless chainring with these cranks. That might lose a few ounces.
I'd love to get it under 16 pounds but that might require building a new wheel set.
And the cost of that might now be worth the ounce or 2 I could save.
I could hacksaw the post down a bit.
If I could track down a KCNC or Aest lever in red that would save an oz or so.
I have all winter now to figure that stuff out.
By spring time it's possible that I'll have this at 15 lbs 15 oz....
But for now I'm extremely happy with how it came out. I cut no corners in making it a normal  bike.
Even has valve caps. lol

Thanks man. I'm making a few slight changes to it. But it's going to be over the top when completed... and lighter.

This is my 1st time ever building something with weight in mind. A friend of mine bought a Redline Flight 24 last year and I was blown away with how light it was right out of the box.
So I got together with the builder and dreamed this up. Tried to take every little detail to the extreme. Even after a year of researching the weights of every single BMX part out there I'm still learning. Never knew so much could go into shaving grams off a bike.

Re: Carver Titanium 24 2011

Success!!!!! Finally dipped into the 15 pound range. "Just" though. 15.99 pounds.

Only 2 more parts on the way. Switching the seat and waiting on a custom Homebrewed ISIS spline sprocket to be delivered.

Approx 4 more ounces will be shaved off.  Then I'm calling it done!!!!

It's pretty scary. It's only been out once, but it feels like a super light road bike underneath you.

While on the ride I noticed there was some play in the back hub.

Unfortunately I have to take the wheel apart and send it back to Profile.

They are going to do a rebuild for me or replace it all together.

But since it's winter time in upstate NY I really don't care much.

Just waiting on my spline drive to get here so I can gets it's official FINISHED weight.

Next spring I'll be riding it quite a bit though.

Thanks for the comment. smile

Re: Carver Titanium 24 2011

2nd to last piece on this project. This custom made sprocket from Homebrewed Components should save about 3 ounces. It will allow me to run a spline drive ISIS and I can remove the spider from the carbon cranks for further weight reduction.
3 oz here and 2 ounces on the new seat and it's a wrap.

Yes I have. I'm waiting on them to design a different size then the one they released. I haven't checked in awhile but the only size they had was a 8+ inch rise. I'd like to get a 6.5 inch rise when available.

To be honest, I designed this bike as a "full sized" cruiser and the only area I cheated on was the bars. They are classified as "expert" bars with a weight limit. So if I get the Bombshell bars... and I will, this will be a 100% pro sized cruiser, without any sort of drilling out, or any cutting down of anything.

Thanks for the comment. smile

Thanks for the hookup man. Some things are just meant to be. Crazy how I got those wheels huh?

Thanks for the comment. I'll be logging some "easy" miles on this thing in the summer.

Cheers. smile

Opinion...

Should I add this seat?

Now that it's in the 15's lb range I don't care about weight.

Seat is 95 grams, old one is 143 grams.

Looks???
