After the bike had arrived I had to dive right into this build. I began to dismantle the bike right away.

After dismantling the bike I had to then keep going, out came the saw. Im sure alot of you old school bikers are not going to like this pic to much. But if I am to make the bike I once had, I had no choice. ![]()

Once I cut the bar through, I had to grind off the the other side where it was welded to the frame.

After I cut the tubes off I thought it would look better if I cut the top at an angle. So I did it. ![]()

Looks cool, I like when people fabricate something into thier own. I don't know how to weld but maybe you could epoxy something round like a marble or steel ball on the end. Bondo around the gaps and sand smooth to give it a finished look. It would probably look good painted doubtful it would work with powder coat. Just a though... sure there are many ways to do this....

PPG two part all the way.
No spray bomb for me. That way I know exactly how its going to come out. some times powder goes on to thick in places

Most of the time I completly strip the paint. In this paticular case because the paint was in such great shape with so little rust I sanded down the intire bike and fork Removing any minor rust to a smooth finish. Then I spray it with a sealer and top it off with primer to prepair it for some high quality paint.
