I bought a disc brake kit a few years back on amazon and works great on my 24" cruiser.

I do not know what you are looking to spend, but Profile Racing will generally make you any hub you want for a slight up-charge. I have had them make some fairly wacky stuff throughout the years.

Word around the campfire is that Skyway has worked on a disc brake Tuff-Wheel.

Re: disc brake on a bmx

I have a pair of 20 inch 48 spoke wheels with disc brake mounts that I picked up in a package deal. I'm not sure what they came off of but I'm guessing a lower end mountain bike. the rims are HJC and the hubs are no-name steel. Let me know if you are interested.

they  have 110mm BMX spacing and a 18t freewheel.

Re: disc brake on a bmx

those would have been perfect if they were 36h and sealed bearing.

what i am looking for is a set of matching front and rear  high flange 36 hole 3/8" axled sealed bearing hubd that will work with disc brakes and i can still run a 16t"freewheel" . not cassette

someone suggested a fixie/freewheel hub.

profiles are nice but way overpriced for standard stuff. can only imagine price on a custom. and i hate the look of the 2 different size flanges they make now. kills the look  of the hub

the skyway mag would be nice but this is going on a 24" quad cruiser. too much flex for my comfort.

Re: disc brake on a bmx

I think last years 24"-26" Haro bmx cruisers had factory disk brakes...should look into the company that made them.

What did you ever find out about the hub adapter?

Re: disc brake on a bmx

i thought Atom labs or Azonic made some kind of adapter kit?

other thoughts:

profile makes a disc hub, that i'm sure its driver and axle can easily go to a single speed SS or Race setup (maybe). don't qoute me on that.

Cost wise, you are better off to buy a hub made for disc brakes.

Here is a Phil Wood set:  http://www.philwood.com/products/hubspgs/mtbhubs.php
