1976 Champion Schwerma

1976 Champion Schwerma

One of the few Doug Schwerma Champion frames. (sold)

I bought this frame from  Darren Chan (One of his amazing finds)... it was in real bad shape. The nickel was half covered with a hideous orange paint... it was a true mess.

http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/yy244/Guthrie_Tater/new%20champion/c4.jpg
So I started the mission to restore the poor thing. Spent many many hours on removing the "evil" that had infested this unloved frame.
Still have a ways to go before it is done. But I did manage to find ORIGINAL decals for the frame. That was no easy task. I have spent six years looking for these decals.
Here are a few "cleaned up" shots.

I will post some more as I get closer to finishing it.

Yup.. I am. big_smile

It will very similar to what I rode back in the late 70's and early 1980's. Just missing a few things now. cool

Re: 1976 Champion Schwerma

I have changed it up a bit.
Swapped out the Skyways for a set of Gurney Eagle mags. Also went to a first gen Addicks spider (no nuts.. bolts thread directly into spider)

New photos. smile

Re: 1976 Champion Schwerma

Great restoration and choice on parts. I like the look of the Eagle mags. Hank&Frank and license are very nice details.
