You live in Seattle? Why does it say Alaska on your profile?
I might be able to make it to a Seattle ride.

If we start planning now, maybe it will stop raining by the time we pull it together

Re: Seattle... we ready for a ride!?

Let's do it. Even if the sun is only "breaking", if it is mostly dry, I am ready for a ride. Took my boys out Friday, and it was doable.

I split time between the two places... I'm gonna be here all spring and summer (Seattle)cool

Anyone have ideas on routes?  Ive got a few, just need to mapquest to see how ln the ride would be.

Plan it now, so hopefully the rain is done when the day comes.  This rain has been horrible.

Re: Seattle... we ready for a ride!?

Hmmm... Greenlake would be cool, but i think down by the pier would be cool as well, and downtown area
Would a five mile trek be too far?

Re: Seattle... we ready for a ride!?

Downtown waterfront would be nice - sculpture park / Medgar Evers park are nice locations, usually not too crowded. Except for hempfest that is...

Re: Seattle... we ready for a ride!?

I have a hard time getting excited about downtown Seattle on a bike.  If I want to push my bike up hills all day, I can do that with less people watching me big_smile

Greenlake sounds interesting, but possibly crowded, as most of the good riding areas will be on every sunny day for a while.... of course crowded and girls jogging in Spandex are not such a bad combination.  The dirt jumps and Skatepark sound like Icing on the cake smile

Re: Seattle... we ready for a ride!?

greenlake is cool i'm tellin ya although on a saturday afternoon it is kinda crowded. last weekend when i went there was 15 or 20 guys riding the dirt jumps so that was really cool to see. but if we rode in a big group around the lake i think it would be just fine

Re: Seattle... we ready for a ride!?

As mentioned, Greenlake seems like it can get really crowded, but maybe at the right time of day, riding in a single-file pack.

Waterfront would be cool, and you can avoid hills down near Alaskan Ave and ride north on the Elliot Bay bike path past the sculpture park.

Another idea might be Golden Gardens down through Ballard to Fremont for beers via Burke Gilman - can be leisurely.
