Re: 1979 Free Spirit
Yeha now that's a survivor .. may not super collectable but makes up for it in cool retro value ! nice blast from the past
I collect/hoard/fix/buy/sell BMX bikes , vintage road bikes , cruisers , mtb , bikes in general ....
Also do the same with old school chevys and classic cars/trucks

Re: 1979 Free Spirit
That was exactly my first NEW bike.. Didnt remember it being 1979 but i knew it was around then.. It was my upgrade from a 10 year old green Schwinn 3 speed with a banana seat so it was quite an improvement but nothing like my best friends Thruster. Anyway I was 9(ish) years old & enjoyed it alot none the less.
Thanks for sharing this as it is a real blast from the past for me!

Re: 1979 Free Spirit
Wow. I guess you can find/see just about anything/any type of bmx bike on the museum! This was also my very first bike (not THIS actual one, but one like it ;-) when I was about 6-7. I haven't seen one since, so it's nice to see one again. Sure brings back memories. The good old days ;-)

Re: 1979 Free Spirit
That is exactly the first bike I ever owned (8 y.o). Some many great memories came flooding back when I saw this picture, from going with my Pop to Sears and picking it up and him busting my balls on the way home telling me it fell out of the trunk as we were driving, to every wipe out I had on that bike .... AWESOME! Thanks
