1995 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Build (thru a child's eyes)

So here's the deal...
Since I got back into BMX my daughter enjoys checking out videos on-line and looking at all the sweet rides here in the Museum. Who can blame her right?  Anyway I got the idea of letting her put a bike togther with what she likes and thinks is cool. Maybe I've opened a HUGE can of worms but we will see. smile
As I work on this and add more to it please keep one thing in mind, this is the creation of a 9 year old girl.  I'm pretty much letting her pick and chose what she wants (within reason of course).  All the color combinations are of her choosing.  And with all the parts I am presenting her with options. She is going to be turning the wrench and learn a thing or two.
I'm not going to say don't bash it. But what I'm going to ask is that you please remember a 9 year old girl is going to be reading this so try to stay out of the gutter with your comments. tongue

So I gave her the option of several frames to start with. 1995 Diamondback Viper XL, 1999 DK General Lee, 1995 GT Pro Freestyle Tour, 1998 GT Performer, 1995 Dyno Compe, 2001 GT Jamie Bestwick or a 2000 Redline Double X.

Her choice....

The '95 Pro Freestyle Tour of course!

After looking through all my piles of rims & mags she didn't like any of them!  (I can see her hand reaching into my wallet for something expensive!)
But she had told me she wanted the build to be red. I'm still not sure why because blue is her favorite color! What do I know?  So after a long search getting no where my boy greenvenom15 just happened to have these custom painted GT fan blades.  I didn't think she'd be down with them, but she fell in love with'em. Thanks for the hook up Tony!

Where will her creative mind take us from here???  Keep checking back!

Excellent!  I'm in the middle of a build-up with my son, who is also 9.

He wanted regular wheels, instead of mags.

Are you going to keep the frame chrome?

Yes, it will stay chrome.  It really blings and I think if she'd wanted to paint it I would have had to hit the postings to find one that was in bad enough shape to warrent paint! lol
Right now we are stripping the old decals off so we can lay on her "custom" decals.

Yeah, I thought the same thing when she said red.  But she seems to have an idea and green has not been mentioned...yet!

Re: 1995 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Build (thru a child's eyes)

Just a quick update...
We got all the old decals off tonight using my new found decal removing friend "boiling water".  Gonna clean up the frame a little before laying down the new one's.

Re: 1995 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Build (thru a child's eyes)

subscribed!  My daughter also designed a bike for herself this winter using this:
http://www.strictlybmx.com/bmx/ver10.html

I picked up a $40 complete 2000 Performer of CL that we'll begin working on as soon as the weather breaks.

Please let me know if I owe you feedback.  Seriously, PM me with a reminder.

Still need a few pieces for the Performer.  Hopefully it will roll out soon!

It was a very busy weekend and I wasn't able to get new pics up of her build. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tonight.tongue

Bought it from member "daddy-o".  Pretty nice and has some padding. He has more for sale and for the price I think it's awesome!
