1983 Diamondback Harry Leary Turbo
1983 Diamondback Harry Leary Turbo
The parts are not OEM, but I can really enjoy without a care in the world!
DB Harry Leary Turbo frame / forks. Some parts OEM 1983 DB silver streak.
Frame detail: Ser number: 3B0*** baseball symbol. Top tube 18.6", rear dropout thickness 1/16".
I found clear smoke residue on the frame when I went to clean it.
OS Harry Leary decals (Thanks, Shane, buddy!!)
Forks: 'Chromoly tube BMX Parts baseball symbol 'Koizumi' JAPAN' sticker on fork tube. ser number: baseball symbol 2FT inside left fork dropout.
Araya 7X hoops, suzue hubs (OEM Silver Streak), Mitsuboshi comp III tyres.
Elina Lightning bolt seat '83, Polished Suntour seat clamp, GT seat pole.
SR DB stem (OEM Silver Streak), '89 Auburn Bars, Odyssey Dynatron headset,Oakley B1 grip copies.
Shimano DX levers, Tourney calipers, Shimano cables, Odyssey Triax brake pads.
Flite pads and donuts.
Sugino RT cranks with Tange Bottom bracket, VP 550 pedals, mid school KMC chain.
Went together like it was meant to be. It feels super fast and the angles are excellent for an old schooler!!

LOVE the Turbos! How in the world is the smoke finish redone? Worth the time and money if possible to return to Turbo.
Just this noob opinion.

I have heard it takes somthing like 9 coats to get it down right, then you have to bake it, because it was an enamel coating! If I go the Turbo route, I will have to get some darn good advice..

leave it as is and when Turbo parts come up for sale just replace them.
This is what I'm doing but Turbo stamped items don't come up very often

Rode this yesterday at the Sydney old school ride, OZBMX.com.au. It was a top day!
