Re: 1979 AMF
what do you mean? it is built
as far as restoring it that would only devalue it i think.

Re: 1979 AMF
dude restore it. I love how the bars are bolted directly to the forks. Sweet.
Why does everyone jack up the seat and move the bars forward? Not cool.

Re: 1979 AMF
know eny thing bout the fork and h-set? i got a fork but the cartridge b.b.'s look to be 1 1/4 and the head tube could of been long like a cruizer. but when i set it up on my goose it jacked up the front end and had a 2in gap or so on head tube. did they make a 24 or O.M. 26 amf that used this style of fork? oh yea it has a double clamp for the bars. the ones on your ride is sick.

Re: 1979 AMF
i do not know a whole lot about these bikes. but these forks are not forgiving. they are made to fit an exact size of head tube. if your frames head tube is too short by a few mm you can shim it any more then that and you risk breaking the fork and or the frame. i had a free spirit chopper older 1 that had a similar crown. wasnt many frames it fit on without problems

Re: 1979 AMF
I worked for a bike shop in 1978-80 in the midwest and saw a ton of these built and ridden. Super heavy and ridgid as hell...it was like riding a log with handlebars....but if you had one back in the day you were king s%@t
