Re: Spoke Length Database For Wheel Builders!
I recently built up a couple sets of Z-Rims with the following hubs:
36 hole z rim to front gen 1 Phil Wood hub, 4x pattern = 194mm
36 hole z rim to Suntour coaster brake, 4x pattern = 194mm
36 hole z rim to Suntour Low flange sealed bearing huds, 4x pattern = 193mm
Using the spoke calculators that are on the web are much easier than you think. Finding the rim ERD is a bit more tricky.
Z-rims have and ERD of 392

Thanks for your contribution Scott; the original post above has been edited!

Why not just post the actual measurements of hubs and rims......instead of posting combos and length needed......there are too many possible combos.
So if you make a spreadsheet of hub measurements and rim dimensions, you can use one of the many free calculators online to get the length of spokes needed for your particular combo and cross lacing you intend to use.
eventually we could get most popular rims and hubs documented for OS bmx and not ever need to guess again. I think this is easier than trying to list out every possible combo. That would have been easy IF they were measured b4 being laced. Some maybe hard to measure after being laced-but I do agree with you.
This is especially the case with ERD-can't be measured with the wheel being laced as I have read.
I also agree Williwoods; however, the issue is that often many members do not know how to properly measure the hubs or rims. If they make an error with this, there is the potential for several individuals to purchase the wrong spoke length. The objective with this post was to simplify the entire process by just sharing known spoke lengths. Although it may take longer, with the contributions of many members, this post could achieve what you're describing over time. If you look at the first post with the listing of spoke/rim/hub combos, you will start to see a pattern developing. It looks like Ukai Speedlines will take the same 194mm spoke length with either GT Superlace hubs or Profile HF Gyrolite II hubs and the same x4 lace pattern. Another combo using the same spoke length is the Z rims and Suntour HF hub. Eventually, with enough data from other members, we can interchange hubs and rims with a given spoke length with complete confidence.
That being said, if you do know the measurements of hubs and ERD of specific rims, please do share that info here, as I feel this would still be the most appropriate thread for it.

Seems like most 36 spoke wheels use 7 5/8" ( 194mm) spokes

Re: Spoke Length Database For Wheel Builders!
I have built many 20" BMX wheels with different hubs and rims combinations. The only time I couldn't use the 194mm spokes was when I laced up an Araya Aero Rims. They needed to be shorter for sure.
Still have not heard from anyone who laced up 26" Cruiser Wheels 4X. Can anyone help me???

do you have a pick of the hub? If it's like the GT Coaster brake hub, it should be the same length spokes...

Re: Spoke Length Database For Wheel Builders!
I had to relace a friend's wheel. He gave me a large flange hub and 185mm spokes. First I thought the spokes were the regular 194mm or 7 5/8" length so I was lacing them using 4x. There was no way it was going to work because the spokes were way too short. Laced them 3x with no problem.

sorry, I wanted to see if it looked like the same size as my GT coaster brake hub, but it's very hard to tell from the photos and I really wouldn't feel confident using it as a reference. Hopefully someone else with experience with that hub will chime in for you!

Arayas
arayas 20x1.75 - bullseye - ___ mm
arayas 20x1.75 - sealed suzues _____ mm
arayas 20x1.75 - Phils - ______mm
arayas 20x1.75 - high flange non sealed sunshines _____ mm
Arayas
arayas 24x1.75 - bullseye - ___ mm
arayas 24x1.75 - sealed suzues _____ mm
arayas 24x1.75 - Phils - ______mm

does anyone know the specs on a 20" Araya 7C and Shimano DX low flange hubs. Both were from 1980 I'd guess. Thanks!! I cannot find on any calculator and need spokes.
