1982 Powerlite

**SOLD**

Hard to find Powerlite survivor. I'm debating keeping it with original decals as a survivor or restoring it Candy Apple Blue or Chrome. The paint is not good with several bare spots.
Old GT forks.

Pwerlite factory team was anchored by "The Human Dragster" Tommy Brackens in 1982. The team used white Max jerseys with Red and Black graphics. The pants where Red/White/Black Max.
They had custom painted helmets.

Re: 1982 Powerlite

Dude,
I had one of these.  I buoght it from Wes's BMX (Mail Order) Paid $85.00 I would keep it as a Surviver.  The restore paint job will be almost imposable to match.  I also had a Candy Apple Red. The Blue was my favorite one.  No Way I would Crome it.   Besides, it has track time and the marks to prove.  I've seen people spend Thousands of $$$$.$$  To build a NOS bike.  But it is a NOS.  (It's like the girl that never got asked to the Prom.)  And now she the popular one at the 20 year reunion.  And still has not been ridden.  I like to take them back to where they were when I first started racing them if I can.

That a closer look at the forks- I think they might be powerlite forks that have been restickered.  The Dropouts seem to be to clean. (Small) For GT.  But I am not Sure.

Re: 1982 Powerlite

I think that bike is beautiful as is.  This is an odd question, but did that bike come in a plastic carrying case when it was new?  I remember some of the older Powerlite's in the shop arriving in a plastic case specifically made to house the f/f, along with the bars and cranks.  Am I way off base?

I am not the original owner. I dont remember those boxes myself. I remember that Race Inc came in a cool cardboard box.
