It just does everything right.  Its strong, its light, it handles great and its stable yet tossable in the air.  I prefer midschool cause that was when threadless came around and threadless is a superior solution to the steering problem than a quill stem is any day.

Favorite part would have to be the Redneck.  Sure, it was a knockoff of the GT Mallet stem, but it was stronger and had a longer reach, plus the most obvious joke name ever in BMX.

Re: your favorite mid school race parts

freeagent alloy frames ride nice no gimick just a clean frame. but there where lots of cool frames . the 90's / mid shcool earer was when BMX made huge leeps in high tech parts, frames and stuff. at lest it seemed that way to me.

Good question.  I guess I like the obnoxious-a$$ click of my casette hubs...tongue  That and Shimano DX v-brakes.  They'll stop a freight train.

The DX V-Brakes are still awesome.  I really liked the T1000 rims for some reason.  Guess the ads got me.

I find the experimentation to be the most interesting aspect of Mid School:

Re: your favorite mid school race parts

This bike was a mix of most of my favorite parts of the 90's and my favorite frame too. I have since changed out the oury grips for green A'me tri's but haven't taken any pics of it with those yet.

Gotta love the 80's and 90's, when a simple smile could get you laid. That same smile now gets me pepper sprayed and a karate chop to the throat.

Re: your favorite mid school race parts

acs boa. pitbull springs wear out i've never had luck with them, i've owned 4 used ones and only one had any spring left in it. this brake is much better i think, come on how can you beat 4 layers of bearings in a brake. i'd put those brake pads on best of mid school list too. as well as every other part on this bike tongue

Jives are my all time fave grip, but since they came out in 87, IMO they still fall into old school.  Just sayin'...
