1981 Huffy Pro Thunder

This is: Cry Baby

when I was a little kid, I asked my dad for this bike. Needless to say I did not get it. I cried over not getting the then bike of my dreams. 30 years later she is dropped in my lap by a very dear friend (Bill Thanks), and I cried all over again. I have this one for the long haul.

Re: 1981 Huffy Pro Thunder

I have a similar story about my old Huffy Pro Thunder. I was inspired to even write a song about my quest for that bike. You can download for free at robertsteel-music.com. I loved that bike. Like your pics.

Re: 1981 Huffy Pro Thunder

Cool story! I had a pro thunder in white and blue..dang so along ago I think it had the yellow pads and blue snake belly tires when new. It was my 2nd all new bike for Christmas of 82....and I trashed the hell out of it in the mud, snow and ramp jumps. Even painted it over several times:lol: Also, made it free coaster by accident when I had to clean all the mud out of the hub -forgot the shims lol! In 84 I got my first free wheel, white "Stu Thompson" edition Huffy and in less than 2 months it was stolen. Cry and miss it to this day. Should have never left it on the porch that night. Thanks for the great memories with your Huffy bike post.

Taking it one day at a time there is light at the end of the tunnel
