44T Old/Mid School BMX Club of Chicago
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to rake those bars up, rake those seats back, and make this happen -- CHICAGO STYLE!!!
My name is Perron, and I'm one of the nearly 30 Chicago area old/mid school riders who met this past Saturday on Chicago's lakefront for what turned out to be a great experience. We rode along the shores of Lake Michigan on a beautiful day, took in the sights, and hung out afterwards to tell stories, talk about life, and enjoy food. Hence an idea was hatched: Starting a Chicago area BMX club!
Open to men and women, boys and girls (those who are of an appropriate level of maturity, of course), the purpose of the 44T Old/Mid School BMX Club would be to create and maintain a network of Chicago area old/mid school BMX riders that would keep members in the loop of what's happening in and around the Second City regarding our beloved lifestyle/hobby. For example, Nealsky did a fantastic job of organizing the Chicago Summer Ride, and when he or someone else has an old/mid school-realted acitivity (ride, show, etc.) in the works, 44T would make sure the word got out. 44T would also work to keep the momentum going by organizing rides, shows, etc. on an ongoing basis. While the Museum threads are a great means of communication, the use of other means such as phone calls and emails are also useful, so 44T would like to give its members the option of supplying information such as phone numbers, addresses/locations, etc so that we can keep in touch. If we get this thing going, this could be the result:

If you're in the Chicago, Milwaukee, or NW Indiana region, are into old/mid school BMX, and are down for this, post on this thread now. I'll look to get a roster going offline so that we can build this network, get out there, and have some fun. I know you're out there, so I look forward to hearing from you! PEACE

You could even just call it:

Re: 44T Old/Mid School BMX Club of Chicago
Neal, I like the simplified name with the motto a lot. Those who are "in the know" know, and those who aren't "in the know" don't know, and don't need to know, ya know? I'd like to roll with it.
Those who are down, I think it would be helpful if I kept a roster with names, addresses/locations, and phone #s. I think it would be real helpful, but it's not required. If you're down, PM me your info when you can.
Now it's time for me to do some friggin' homework, 'cause it ain't gonna do itself. Catch y'all tomorrow!

Re: 44T Old/Mid School BMX Club of Chicago
Alright, I peeked in between assignments and I am stoked to see all the interest! Based on some feedback, we're gonna roll with "44T BMX Club", and I think that the signature should include the subscript "Chicago" so that people know where we're from. It looks like Bipolar is gonna head up that creative department, so I'll leave designing the signature to him. Those who have already PMd me, I thank you. I'll start compiling a roster that'll be kept offline except for use in PMs. Everyone who submits their info is doing so voluntarily, should have this understanding, and won't have to worry about me doing dumb or inappropriate ish with their info.
Dinner, then back to work. You guys ROCK, so it's time for this thing to ROLL...

Re: 44T Old/Mid School BMX Club of Chicago
I'm not a graphic designer but here's a quick scan of an idea I had. Might be cool to add a bike in there somewhere if it's not too cluttered. Also, I think it would be cool to use a font with an outline just like the BMX Action magazine font. So the BMX in the center would look really familiar. That BMXA font really implies a certain era of BMX

Looks awesome! My 2c would be to leave off the big "The" and just have "Chicago" underneath instead of the whole sentence which seems sort of redundant.

Yeah, that way the "BMX" could be centered.
