Thats what id say it is 1992. If it has the 4130 stamp it would be full chromoly. But most Interceptors are high ten trimoly.

Under the GT logo behind the seatpost on the back of the tt.

Re: GT Serial Number Info

The sn's on the bb are as follows: right hand side 28059-3 left hand side HAANL12744 and right in the middle  BI-1318.
I'm really quite confused and I wanna know what type of GT I have on my hands. Thanks in advance.

Re: GT Serial Number Info

I have what I've been told is a '92 Interceptor. The S# is KG2C03801. The GT serial number section says it is Kenesis made in Taiwan, but beside the "K" the rest of the sequence doesn't really match up.

The headtube, seattube and "Designed in USA made in Taiwan" stickers are all that remain. They are chrome trimmed in blue and a pale green. The bike is black and has a 18.5" TT.

Can anyone decipher this s# better than me?

I looked at the 92 catalog in the catalog section and the one pictured is yellow. It would be great if someone has a black one for me to check out. I guess I'm really more interested in what the other decals look like.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Re: GT Serial Number Info

Re: GT Serial Number Info

I actually see a picture of exactly what it is! A 2004 Performer. http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/gt_bicycles/32741
But you have an excellent eye for GT's man, awesome. Thanks for your insight and pointing me in the right direction.

Re: GT Serial Number Info

hello,

I recently got hold of a 26" GT cruiser. The six digit serial number (281***) is on the inside of the rear right dropout. There is no model abbreviation. Would this be a Santa A or a Huntington Beach frame? The decals say it would be the former, but the excellent data on the first page of this post seems to suggest it's an HB frame, as there's no model abbreviation.

Thanks.

That could be a Feb. 81 model. If so, its made in Santa Ana.

Re: GT Serial Number Info

thanks. That's what i thought.
Here are a couple pictures. Sorry, they're taken with my phone. The bike is as I rolled it home two days ago. A craigs list find. The wheels and brakes are junk, but the rest of the parts are pretty sweet. A CW laidback post, a gold DC clamp, red Elina, and best of all, first generation GT cruiser bars. I think the stem is an Odyssey, but I'm not sure.
