Re: 1985 Ross Piranha

Cool...I picked up an '85 Piranha on ebay a few years ago. My rear drop out is a bit different. Instead of the three holes mine is solid w/ factory welded on threaded extensions that accept pegs. The decals are identical. The front forks which I ruined were a "PK Ripper" copy forks w/ the peg threads as well. I also picked up an '86 complete off ebay.

The '86 has a looptail rear drop out w/ a GT Performer bent bottom tube. Sen me your email and I'll send ya pics.

Re: 1985 Ross Piranha

I never really liked Ross all that much, but this thing is pretty cool. I'd change a few things on it. Nice bike though. smile

If ya ever wanna sell, E-Me. My boyfriend wants it.

Re: 1985 Ross Piranha

i got 2 of that style like yours and 2 of the freestyle frames. 1 of the freestyle frames has never been riden. it was a bike shop leftover and when i got it there was cardboard over the stickers still. i also have a 16 inch baby blue one with 5 spoke mags. let me know what parts you're after and i'll get back to you on it

the only thing i'm good at is riding this bike

Re: 1985 Ross Piranha

I had one of these when I was a kid.  It was the second bike I ever owned (the first was a Huffy Thunder Road).  I got it from a bike shop as a complete bike.  It had the same style stickers as yours, but it was a black bike with gold accents.  The  bars were chrome, not the type with the flat top bar, they kind of looked like old gt race bars, but smaller.  One piece cranks with one piece sprocket (I think the sproket was gold).  It had Chrome straight seat post, with a black seat similar to the one you have,  coaster brake with 2 tone steel rims (gold center with chrome side walls).  Wow did that bike get alot of attention when I was a kid.  It was a beauty.  It's the bike that I started getting into freestyle with.  Before I saved up enough for a Haro Master, my Ross pirhana was decked out with gt pegs, odyssey 2000 front an rear brakes, etc.

Eventually I ended up breaking/ replacing all of the parts, but the frame never broke.  Whenever I would break one of my "high end" Haros, GTs, or Bullys, all of the parts would go onto the Pirhana frame until I could get a replacement.  It took all the abuse.

I think it got left behind when my parents sold the old house.  Wish I still had it!

Re: 1985 Ross Piranha

I got one of these from my buddy, same stickers w/ chrome . Nice bikes, could take a beating, and they were light, actually kinda front end heavy from the forks (beefy). All 4130 chromoly if I remember correctly. I put skyways on mine w/ peregrine rear brake, peregrine disc and peregrine seat clamp. Didn't have the bike together a week and it was stolen..sad I'd still have that bike today. Actually I just want my peregrine parts back (THAT RAT PUNK)...smile Nice find and good job on the finish...cool
