Nice bike! If it has a brake bridge it could be a Race Inc.

Re: 1976 FMF

It does have a break bridge and there is no hole in the gusset so that wouls make it something other then a Fmf!

Re: 1976 FMF

ok ...just got this bike today .................thanks pbucch.
this bike rocks.
not a fmf ...
forks are funkin junk , puddle welded lawyer hole having junkers ...oh and bent or twisted ..
bars are bent ..too far gone to straighten ..
but the gold is nice and dark , no cracks (thank God)...tiny ding on top tube , easily covered by a pad.
kkt's not crushed ...maxy cranks in blue 7 out of 10 ..dad said they are actually nice.
so dad said the original decal was big and wraped all around the down tube ...
so it could be a ......mmmmm.........
possibly a laguna GT od a race inc .....
any other ideas ?

Re: 1976 FMF

The frame is definitely a 1977 due to the weld on the underside of the bb lug. 78 and later frames had a one piece unwelded lug. This frame is either a Cycle Pro Spoiler or Laguna GT.

You are right, the Raleigh Rampar was a geometry all its own. The geometry was a cross between the RA7 and RA8. It's not a geometry that was ever marketed as a Race Inc. It was only offered as a Raleigh and a Laguna. Ive seen more than a couple refinished with Race Inc decals on them.

I live for SE's, Race Inc's, and Nomuras

Sitting in my doublewide dreaming about owning a real Nomura instead of the seven imaginary ones I talk about and wishing everyone here didnt hate me so much.
