I vote no for the bump. If people would just be smart they would realize that you can make a comment on your own thread in response to someone else`s question or comment and guess what? It bumps the ad.
Can`t believe nobody has figured this out yet.So, isn't that a bump?
Are you talking in for sale, or in new posts? He is talking about the "New Post" button, Its all I use, I wont sit in one section when I can look at them all at once. If the bump is brought back, we should make it where only the seller can "bump" it. This way we can tell who is abusing the "bump" feature.
i totally agree with you jay!!!
sorry guys but i got tired of seeing everyone and thier mother bumping someone elses for sale post over and over and over again ![]()

Re: New Features for site, who wants what?
I would personally like to be able to upload photos straight from my desktop to this site instead of having to use photobucket...that gets to be a hassle. especially when youre trying to use multiple angles of something in a sale ad, or adding a bike to the museum.
I need an '05 or later decal set for my General Lee. (2005 model)

adding a bike to the museum requires you to upload "straight from your desktop."
but we very well might be hosting photos on the custom For Sale section. or at least giving you the option to have it hosted elsewhere or upload.

a 'My Topics" link
what does that mean, exactly?
I thought I would be the 100th person asking for this..
I meant in 'userlinks'
.. or a 'show my topics" at the bottom of the page
Also being able to automatically subscribe to topics replied in would be nice. Or at least to the ones we start.

I've never understood how the gear icon in front of For Sale posts on the main For Sale page work. They seem to highlight with no regularity. Like the ones I've looked at should be highlighted and the ones I haven't not. But it doesn't have any ryhme or reason.![]()
F**k sittin on NOS Parts. Build it! Otherwise they're just PARTS and not a BIKE!

Re: New Features for site, who wants what?
I don't know the programming, but how about a "recieved" button for sales. I think that will guilt people into getting ready to ship prior to sale (me included...
). I've been waiting on a couple of items here for a month.
Also, GAry, I PMed you on the other forsale ideas about amonth ago (the categories, etc.)
Also, how about anonymous mods? That way...no bitch...it's like yelling at a candy machine that stole your quarter....
Then, the mods won't get personal attacks....and the meetups at shows and gatherings won't be uncomfortable.

Re: New Features for site, who wants what?
How about easier access to our bike photos? I know that I will be re-shooting all of my bikes based on recent posts re:cameras, lighting, etc. I'm not sure what the process is now, but ??

Re: New Features for site, who wants what?
How about a sticky election button. If enough distinct member IDs choose the sticky button...it automatically becomes a sticky (or notifies a Mod to sticky it in the right forum)?
Wow, this is fun...
I also agree with the 1 bump per 24 hours sugggestion. We here on the east coast are far superior to those on the west coast, therefore doing things much faster and earlier in the day...causing forsale posts to be lost to the ether.....
J/K. But, I've posted sales at different times of day where there's no views whatsoever. In a recent forsale post, I didn't get any sales at all. I re-posted the same EXACT post hours later...without changing prices and everything sold.
With a bump, that would not have happened.

Also this ebay thing...why does people want it like ebay...if you like the way ebay is...then go to ebay
because ebay has it sorted so you know who is the seller and who is the buyer.
you can also see if the part was shipped fast, or described as sold, and other things that are important in a deal.
the rep system we have now has none of this.
and its not 'like' Ebay. countless places do it like this and have done it for longer then Ebay.
its just that more see the trade system on Ebay so using it as a reference is easier then
trying to explain everything out word for word.
To whom it may concern : I am off-line and not here on the weekends. All transactions happen during the week with me. Thank You.

Re: New Features for site, who wants what?
ok.. not saying that i WANT this but i just thought it up and it seems like a good idea.
pro members who submit bikes have a chance for the bike to become a reference bike.
say someone has uploaded a perfect example of a early 80s racer. its well described with all info filled out.
its got all the correct parts (verified) and its year is also verified.
and the pics are crisp and clear showing several detail shots and the parts that came on this model.
this bike then becomes a reference bike. one that another person restoring the same bike can use as a reference.
this can be nothing but a small graphic in the corner or something saying 'reference example' or whatever.
and (the important part) we have an option added to our search database
allowing the results to only display the reference bikes.
well ??

"My topics"
Good idea. But not just for "My" topics, but also for other user's topics. Instead of just all their posts lumped together. Yet another function that pretty much every other forum on the internet has, stock, without further programming or effort, but this site doesn't since it's stuck on punbb for whatever reason.
