In the 80's, I was riding the streets with Eric (Hutch), Jamie (GT), Jody (JMC), & Ronnie (Diamond Back). North Hollywood, CA to The Teen Center in Van Nuys, CA. The best LBS was The Pedal Shop, where I bought my first & only JMC frame, forks, & parts for my very first build...

9 speed cassette with a rear derailleur, & trigger shifter helps the journey become a more enjoyable ride... I can cover more miles over a single speed in the same amount of time... gears for hittin different dirt terrain... I can pedal up a hill, instead of getting of the bike and walking (example: single speed bmx bike). I can jamm down a hill or cross flatland much faster by shifting gears to the 11t sprocket. I mean hall A**.  cool

I never get off my bike and walk it!! I can climb hills just as easy, even faster on my BMX...

Don't worry... this will only hurt a little!

you go lance armstrong...  lol I give props to those who can ride all day and go up hills with a single speed 45/14 gear setting with 26" Wheels... So. Cal is mostly weak sauce hills... you should come up to the bay area and ride San Francisco and check it... great riding up here... it's a nice bicycle friendly city... cool
