Re: 1985 Kuwahara Bravo

Gotta love that Sick Green!

Man, Those were the days! I used to love seeing the Kuwahara ads in the BMX magazines. There was always something about them that I just liked. I had a Kuahara race frame for awhile and even though it had a reweld on the set stay it held up to my abuse.

I get this question often so here it is to save everyone time. I do not have any Mongoose DMC decals left. I was lucky enough to find a small bunch of NOS decal sets in an old bike shop that no longer exists and I have since sold them all. Sorry. I wish you all the best of luck with your DMC builds.

Re: 1985 Kuwahara Bravo

This site is way cool, I just got through posting about the black Panda frame. my panda unfortuneatly got a very sneaky new owner! So I see your posting and check out your pics when i see this kuwahara, i'm totally trippin out now cause that was the very next bike i owned ! it was a neat bike too, quite a bit lighter than the Panda or so it seemed. I must have been a magnet for kids needing a free bike cause it also got stolen right by my front door. My 3rd try was a tricked out, all black HUTCH man was it awesome. it had hutch 3 piece cranks, hutch hubs, pro bars, the works. it was about an $800 dollar bike back in 1985. My best friends parents owned the local bmx shop so i got to pick out all the best components ie. at the time! for pretty much dealer price! score! Then i got my drivers license and a 1978 formula firebird with a new Alpine stereo system. I thought i was the coolest lol not! I let a buddy yeah right borrow my bitchen HUTCH  I saw him riding it about a year later told him i needed to get it back soon and that was the last time i ever saw it again he got a truck and left my bike at his uncles where it wound up dissappearing. That one really hit me hard i'd give almost anything to get that one back. I've seen some pretty nice ones, but none quite as tight as it. So i never loaned or left any of my future bikes out! The funny but not so thing is, it must be genetics because on the 4th of july 2006 we left our house to go see the fire works display, gone for maybe an hour and a half and when i pulled up to my drive, there was a black bike where i park i ran inside to check the house, found nothing wrong until i went back outside to give the OK to my kids and my girlfriend when i noticed that something looked different? I asked my 10 yr old son same age as I was coincidentally if his bike was left leaning against the fence, he said yeah he thought so? I told him well it's not anymore. looks like somebody traded up to a better bike. I got the bike that was left behind it turned out to be a HARO that was painted over, and probably stolen also! funny in a way cause my sons was a HARO back trail it was still in new condition. I'm hopeing that he learned his lesson on 1 bike instead of 3 like my dumb as_ did. That kid must of been pretty brave cuz i had a blue heeler and a huge hibrid wolf in the same fenced yard. great guard dogs!

Wife loves it when another package shows up in the mail..big_smile....NOT...big_smile
