1976 Redline Squareback
1976 Redline Squareback
This is my 1976 Redline Square Back frame that I have had for 25yrs. I have just stripped it down and now want to restore it for my 11yr old son. I am looking for help with restoration ideas, value of frame, and just any background on the frame itself. I know that it is a rare frame and is worth more then most new Redlines. Offers for the frame will be entertained. Thank you, John
UPDATED PICTURES.... The 3rd picture is after about 20hrs of buffing... The last picture is what I started with.
UPDATE.. IT IS DONE!!!... The 1st and 2nd pictures are of the finished bike... All Redline parts used

when it comes time to die,be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death,so when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way, sing your death song and die like a hero going home. chief aupumut mohican 1725

if it's really nice you could probably get $500. don't know if i'd let the 11yr old ride it around though.

Re: 1976 Redline Squareback
I wouldn't like my son to ride it unless he took real good care of it, I know in the UK this f&f would go for £300 on a good day

How much is that american?
My son knows what the frames history and is a very responable kid. He would not be allowed to ride it to school or places where he would have to leave it locked up. He has been very interested in going to bike shops and trying to help get it back to where it could be riden.

Re: 1976 Redline Squareback
to give you a better idea.....that frame set would bring in an easy grand just as it sits....the square back is the most sought after of all redlines....there is not very much out there as sought out as that particular frame....do it right and take your time building it up.....do the bike justice and seek out period correct pieces....you already have the hardest part to obtain, that frame.....motomags,tuffs,alloys...they came equipped a bunch of different ways....build it with pride man, build it with pride!!!
BTW....STICKER ON REAR IS INCORRECT

g-flash, just wanted to say thank you for the comment and having an open mind.... My son loves it and I even have to let him ride it in the backyard late at night because he just can't get enough.
