1981 Redline MX-II
1981 Redline MX-II
Got bored today and threw this together for a ride before I have it restored for Mrs. Psycho. I wasn't feeling it at first but, after rolling around the hood for awhile......I dig it. I'll thash on it a bit before I send it out to paint.

Re: 1981 Redline MX-II
Thanks, I intend to have it redone in black but, I just put it together to see if I'd like it. Frameset has some issues and the fork race is giving me a hellava time. I diggin' it right now though and I don't have to worry about locking it up a the beer store.

Haha, the lack of brakes keeps her off it until I'm done with it. She's pre-occupied anyway doing power skids on my Coaster brake CYC. ![]()

LOL I caught my older son today on my 81 Team 'goose, laying black snail tracks down the sidewalk. Good thing the Cheng Shins are repros!
Gotta love the riders. Bikes like to be ridden, or else they get grumpy & break. ![]()

Re: 1981 Redline MX-II
Yea, leave her like she is, and you can keep her for life. With a new decal set, she'll get stolen in a month. ![]()
J/K, I HOPE NOT !!! (Knocking on wood right now)
IMOA, Redlines have the best/most comfortable geometry of all the bikes I have ridden, expecialy a Proline !! Did you get the fork/headset all straightened out ? Do you still have her ? ![]()

Re: 1981 Redline MX-II
Naw, I did let her go. Kinda wish I didn't. Had a lot of good times on that bike while I had it and let it go to a new home super cheap. Never could get the fork race seshed out. Couldn't get the damn thing off the previous owner may have welded it on? I forget. I had enough room to put a mori race on top of the ridiculouly thin stock one and it rode great, just sat a little proud. Only thing I kept was the neck and the bars I think.
Miss ya little buddy. ![]()

Bike had a lot of character and couldn't be replaced. But.........it got replaced. ![]()
