1985 Excalibur Lance
1985 Excalibur Lance
Excalibur Rare 20" race frame.
20 inch frame from my early racing days.Still have the complete uniform as well. No serial number as I don't think they were mass produced. Have had it in a frame box since I took it apart, and have thought about selling, but am wondering if anyone else has one out there or at least remembers this bike company.
Bike now belongs to Old School Atlanta as of November of 2008!

Re: 1985 Excalibur Lance
I loved my Excalibur, power lite bars and tuff neck.... If I remember correctly they were the prototype for Titan. I could so be wrong. It has been years and I did ride without a helmet a lot. Mine was stolen way back in the day...

Re: 1985 Excalibur Lance
Geeez I have been looking for a glimpse of this bike for a while now. I had 1 back in 87 that was originally orange with cooks brother 185 3pc cranks, UNI 1 pc seat and i believe the powerlite bars with the bend where the grips go. Back in the Day it was a sweet bike! I ended up chrome dipping the frame. Those were the days!! Metallica and getting chased by the preps Ha Ha Yeah my bike got stolen also while i was playing video games at Putt Putt. Damn Thieves!!!!!! Looks like there is a line but i would be interested in the frame aswel!! Stephen

Re: 1985 Excalibur Lance
Well gentlemen, the tiime has come for me to sell my Excalibur Lance frame and fork. Instead of selling it to any old shmo on Ebay, I would prefer to sell it to a more appreciative individual. I am asking for 180.00 as the cost of shipping it will run me at least 30.00 Anyone interested shoot me an email, or respond here and I will reply in kind.
Dave

I remember racing/seeing your team at the East Coast and Liberty Nationals BITD. I remember racing a guy on your team (I can't remember his name) but I was "sweating" the frame!!!

Titans were around before Excalibur. They made the chrome model as shown and then a Titanium model that competed with the Titans. Slaughtermelon...Yours was Titanium. I think the whole bike weighed about 12 lbs.

Re: 1985 Excalibur Lance
The Excaliber bikes were created by the Osborn family in Corpus Christi Texas, which is where I raced. They made a pretty good bike. For a small operation they did pretty well in the factory team comp for the short time they were around. I was pretty good friends with Lance Osborn, the name sake of the bike. I am trying to get him to come on here and fill out some more of the company history.

Re: 1985 Excalibur Lance
Wow, just found this site and there is the old Excaliber. I used to race for their factory team! I, along with Lance Osborne, had the original prototypes of these bikes. Mine was titanium (i was 13) and was painted in the team colors (faded from orange to blue to orange). Some great memories. I'll post some pics if I can find them.

Re: 1985 Excalibur Lance
Good News! I talked to Lance today and he gave me the heads up on the frame decals I need. I just got my Excaliber powdered that cool blue we remember. I am putting it back together now. I will submit pictures asap.

That's not how I pictured that bike being built.

I'm with Dug... That bike is a 2 and could have been a 9. 5 easy.

Wow, I bet you spent about $50 on all the parts for the whole bike. That frame is rare as hell and deserves a proper build.

Just take your time and build it right this time. It's a race bike, not a clown bike.

Re: 1985 Excalibur Lance
Bretheren,
Didn't sell it to have you guys fight over what it looks like. The cool thing is that we can see what ever Old School does with it next. Make suggestions that are productive. That's the beauty of BMX you set up a ride to whatever you want and can change it again tomorrow. If not I can buy it back and make it disappear again.
