1983 Ishibashi
1983 Ishibashi
Identical to a Kuwi, round brakestay is only difference.Teardrop bottom tube, oval top tube.
Tioga ARX fork, frame is basically the same as a Kuwi. oval series KZ-83 . This was the closest frame I could match it to. Anyone know for sure, any other oval tube frames I can check out. Thanks for the info and pics , I now know what I got, Thanks..

Re: 1983 Ishibashi
schwinn is a good guess. i think all the skyway ta's had 'TA' on the bottom bracket with the serial number.

Those ain`t schwinn dropouts. Don`t know what it is but I know what it ain`t and it ain`t schwinn. That ought to narrow it down to like 52 million huh?

Re: 1983 Ishibashi
Thanks for the input, it's definitly not skyway, all skyway's even the pro craft's had the upper and lower chainstays that tapered into the rear drop outs, and not all were stamped TA .And it's not a schwinn. I think it's a variation of a early kuwi.KZ or a variation af a rhino, but I really don't know. Again thanks for all the help. Later.

Looks like a Cycle Pro to Me. Maybe the Bonzai model. Fork are made by Tange same ones they used on the Raleigh Aeros. One of My best friends had this same bike in jr.high.

Re: 1983 Ishibashi
I would vote for the Skyway, or something similar.
If the serial format is T12345etc I reckon it would be a Tange made frame, oldschool.
I'll try and find some pics. ![]()

LOL you guys are funny.
I have no idea either. It does look like a Kuwahara but I don't think it is.
I do know my son is riding a 16" version of this.

Re: 1983 Ishibashi
i had one of these! i have actually been searching for @ 6 hours on the internet today trying to find any info on the one i had. here's my story. i was given a chrome schwinn sx1000 at age 6 (1980) within a few years i had broken the top tube right behind the gusset/brace. so my parents sent it in to get warrantied and one of these is what came back. it had predator decals on it (i have yet to find one with the same decals) and it was chrome. no joke/straight from chicago (i'm in madison, wi. i have tons of pics of it with the magalloy by lester wheels on it.
the decals were on the downtube, a couple inches down from the head tube. they were oval shaped, mostly dark purple/black, and had some sort of weird monster look to them. the front of the headtube had a schwinn sticker that was chrome/red/black.
i will post some pics if anyone is interrested.
