1978 Webco
1978 Webco
Had this one custom made at my local bike shop in Miami when I was a kid
This was my pride and joy I had built when I was about 10 or 11. Red/Black motif. I think 1978 or 79, memory fades. Webco frame, Redline forks, Ashtabula crank and gooseneck, box bars "as we called them in the day", MX60 mags, Oakley grips(sanded down to make them stickier), all original, even tires, I've never even changed the tires. Only thing missing is some punk stole my toptube and handlebar pads when I was a kid, but he didn't get the bike. I know this is a BMX website, but I threw in my childhood skateboard for kicks too.

Re: 1978 Webco
thanks guys, cool boards, and thanks for the mags compliments, a lot of kids were running Motomags at the time or "Spiders" as we called them in the day, so I wanted to be different, Tried hard to kill those mags and never could...they were like tanks

Re: 1978 Webco
Damn, that is a sweet Webco...
I've looked at this bike a few times and it was actually an inspiration to me when building mine. I just never commented here, but I had to say... This ride is rockin'!!! ![]()

Re: 1978 Webco
I'd kill for those rims. No lie.
I used to race for a Mongoose team in LA when I was a kid, and I went through every rim my parents could afford (which wasn't alot). I came across some other kid that hated the looks of his rims, and wanted to trade. Yeah best trade I ever made. I couldn't hurt those things even if I tried.
My bike was stolen when I was in 8th grade and I never saw it or heard about it again. I haven't really even ridden since, but I grabbed a Redline off a friend and the bug has bitten me. Now I need to find those rims and rebuild my childhood.
