1986 Profile Champ Pro

I bought this off HACKETTMAN here on the museum and he in turn bought it from the OG owner (his boss) for $150 not too long ago. Anyhow I was looking through the bikes under PROFILE and I PM'ed a few owners and said if you ever decide to sell let me know. Well 2 in the last 2 weeks "let me know". Mark and I struck a deal over the phone and he was gracious enough to meet me half way on the Garden State PKWY (in NJ). When he pulled the Profile out of his car my jaw dropped because it was as though his boss did not do much riding or never rode in the rain. The chrome on the Frame was pristine and the dropouts were stunning to say the least. The forks are also in very good condition but not as good as the frame. Parts as follows:
Profile F/F fork undrilled Frame decals MINT
Profile PRO bars DEAD mint chrome and decal
Profile Gyrolite hubs with MINT decals
Profile 3rd Generation cranks Average condition (pant wear)
Profile spider MINT condition
Profile Bottom Bracket MINT condition (never removed)
Profile Horseshoe Pedals scuffed on ends (9/10) spindles need to be re-black oxided
Profile Pads in white OG in wonderful condition (8.5/10)
Comp IV Blue Tires rider condition
Araya 7X Rims real nice shape rear brake rub
Dia Compe MX 1000's Polished w/ Chrome Tech 3 lever & dated cable
Sugino Chainring in silver 43t
Skyway Tuff pads in blue
ODI Mushroom Grips w/ OG doughnuts (8/10) blue/white
PRO NECK II (9.5/10) Silver/Natural
Headset std. beartrap style
Kashimax Aero in blue rider condition
ULTRAMAX seat post-Mint (never heard of this brand)
Unknown brand seat clamp

Re: 1986 Profile Champ Pro

Thanks guys,
Yea I know what those pedals are worth.smile I just have to take they apart and clean the rust off the spindles.  I am also going to re-lace the wheels because I am afraind the rust will hurt those Gyrolites (they are pristine).  Will also get NOS Comp IV's but that's it.  The frame has PERFECT og chrome but the forks are not as nice.  The Profile Pro bars are also in perfect shape.

I am also in the process of building 2 more 20's so stay tuned.  One will be done within 3-4 months.  I am slow. roll

Re: 1986 Profile Champ Pro

Hey how are you, I know what you mean.  Its had a few changes.  The wheels have been relaced.  The tires have been replaced, as the grips with blue Grab On MX3's.  The brakes also with finned Mathausers I had from my old Profile.  A layback has been added because I ride it but everything that was removed was catalogued and put in bags-including the old spokes and nipples.  When I show it as a survivor most of the old parts get reinstalled.

Regards,
Scott
