yea the color really pops! Like in the first 3 photos, in the last one the bike is in the shade so it's not the real true color.

Re: 1997 Hoffman Taj
So an update. My girlfriend has inherited this bike since 2009 and she uses it it as a leisure/transportation/fun bike. There is a local 16 mile bike trail not to far from our house (non dirt jumps trail, more of a simple casual trail) that we frequent a few times a week with friends. Flipping through a magazine one day in the car while she was driving, she glanced over me looking at some pedals. She said, "Oooh I like those ones!" They were Eastern Plastic Pedals in Ice Blue color. I said, "Yea?" She replied, "Yea I need those." Like a kid in a grocery store begging mom for the Sugar Shocks instead of the healthy cereal, or a girl asking for Santa to bring them a pony this year, I knew I would have to give in and get them.
Well I am kinda glad I did. They were really cheap about 13 bucks and I think they really pair well. Plus she won't be complaining about pedal bite so much from her old metal pedals with razor sharp pins. The pedals swap even shaved a surprising 0.4 lbs off her bike which is always a good thing.
But most of all it got me a chance to give the bike a quick wipe down with an old rag and take some photos on a nice day. I know everyone loves the Taj, and it's a classic. I know there are collectors out there looking for mint condition baby blue Taj's and they're still hunting. So in the mean time here are many photos I'd like to share. Though this one is far from minty condition, it's still one cool ride. Enjoy!
Old metal pedals that are now replaced.
New Eastern Plastic Pedals in Ice Blue
Head tube sticker: Tart Apple Juice
Gusset stamped with HB star logo
Top tube sticker: Tiny Algorithim Juxtaposition
Top tube sticker: Totally Accurate Joystick
Down tube sticker: Todd's A Jerk (perhaps a reference to Todd Lyons? not sure)
Down tube sticker: Totally Awesome Jumper
Seat tube sticker: Twisted Arm Joint (perhaps a reference to Matt Hoffman's shoulder injuries)
I think the pedals are a good pair. Leave comments!
Back end shots
Forks
Terrible One Sprocket 36t
Haro Hubs
Frame
Serial KFG00173
Anyone who's seen a cotton candy blue Taj in person can comment on the wicked paint job. It catches the sunlight very uniquely and radiates with fire. The colors just pop at you. Here are some sunny photos enjoy!![]()

Yes it is, and for a good reason. The person who rides this bike now is much smaller and it's more appropriate in the backwards position. I should have flipped it around for the photos though. (It kinda bothers me too seeing it backwards)![]()
