1999 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26
1999 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26
"Old school meets new school"
I bought the bike in 1999 when Firemans was just getting started. This is a 26" Firemans Texas Cruzer Race frame with Beefmaster forks. Greg originally called the looptails "Race" frames because he also offered a longer, non-looptail 26" frame, which has now been discontinued. This F/F has a LOW serial number.
Being an old BMXer, I saw lots of Cooks Bros, OMs, Lagunas, and Kos Cruisers around Austin in the early/mid 1980s. Austin is a cruzer town. This bike blends yesterday's styles with today's.
Check out Firemans Bikes at http://www.firemansbikes.com. Better yet, buy one.

Re: 1999 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26
I think these bikes are really going to be sought after.....like most other great things, when they are gone... When Greg Mundy decides to close up shop or sell to an overseas company.... That's when these bad MOFO's are going to be coveted. Hopefully that won't happen. Another thing I would like to see happen is to differentiate the model years a little. I know there was a first generation....then the current loop-tail,.....I would like to see a 3rd gen 26" with a slacker geometry....more like an OM FLYER.....I would grab one instantly! These are truly the closest ol' school cruisers available and they are Bad A**!!!!!!!!!

That is an awesome cruiser! I love the color combo. I had that saddle on one of my mountain bikes, very comfortable, can ride all day long!

New pics added 12/14/08. New parts include MCS seat post clamp and Knight BMX retro style stem. It looks like an old Tuf-Neck!!

The new pics look great. I like the fact that your shades of blue match nicely. Did you originally buy this bike as a F&F or was it a complete? Do you know if they newer model 26" F&F have the same geometry as what you have?
Thnx,
GW

Re: 1999 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26
I bought the f/f and had Fireman's build it up using my parts. When I bought the bike in 1999, the color combo was originally black and green, but I didn't ever like it as much as I thought I would, so I switched to black and blue. I believe the geometry is the same on the new f/f. Thanks for the comments.

I love these bikes! I can't wait to get one. I'm hoping I'll be able to pick one up after the Holidays. I would really like to go down to the shop in Texas and actually pick it up in person. Cool ride man.
