1984 Slingshot

The Slingshot was made by "The Greendale bicycle company"
Special Thanks to "SUICYCO"

This is by far one of my favorites, and definitely one of the coolest bikes that I own! From what I have been told this was the only BMX ever banned by the A.B.A.? Is that true? They said that it was banned because it was to fast.. It looks pretty deadly to me. Still one of my favorites by far!! The pictures speak for themselves. Thanks for checking out my killer bike!!!

Re: 1984 Slingshot

This bike is awesome.  I always wanted one of their mountain bikes back in the day.  Didn't even know they made BMX.  Very very nice.

Re: 1984 Slingshot

They got banned 'cause when those stainless cables failed they tended to whip out and shred the flesh of whatever unfortunate person was riding it or even on the gate next to it.  I always thought the frame was real cool, if a terrible idea.  That being said, Perry did his usual wonderful job on this one.

Re: 1984 Slingshot

I rode for one of the owners of "The Greendale bicycle company", I rode for Freewheeler bicycle shop in Grand Rapids MI, (My home town.) Gordy is the shop owner and has been since the 70's, he was one of the orginal owners/designers of the Slingshot.
I got to screw around with a couple when I was 14, but was not to keen on the design, so I dumped them and rode a GT.
I'm kicking my self very hard now.
