2008 SE Racing Quadangle Team

I bought it as a frame & fork set off ebay early this year but was utterly dissapointed once I took it out of the box . I discovered that the frame had a different design than the seller had advertised . Originally the frame was suppposed to have the down tube pierce by the top tube but it had a gusset welded at the head tube junction instead ! According to Mr.Todd Lyons, they realized the need for the change due to strength issue and the one shown on SE website is actually the prototype that never made it to production (Please see pics for reference) . Anyway nice colour tho. The bike is mostly build up with old school parts I've laying around .

Heey you're right! Can't beleave that welding "rare" solution.
In previous models you could see that down tube being really pierce by top one, take a look here: http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/se_racing/20110

Re: 2008 SE Racing Quadangle Team

I bought the '08 Quadangle Team f&f simply because I prefer how the seatstays stay straight from the toptube all the way to the dropout along with some modern updates . The frame look soo much cooler without that bent, unlike all the previous year models where there's a slight bent on the seatstays . But that headtube gusset err..... roll

Hey, did you modified that backend ? The first thing I notice about your bike is that huge dropout ! & if I'm right, what did you do to it ? Mind taking a close up pic of it ? Nice blog btw, if only I could understand what you guys are saying ! he... he...

Re: 2008 SE Racing Quadangle Team

Haa ha, well is a nice blog but a bit oriented to mtb.
About my bike, I'll try to find my 3D Max drafts. I bought this bike in 99 and 9 months later the right dropout/backstay started to separate... welded... the same for left one 2 months later... welded. Then training for the 2k world in Argentina I just explode the left one, really furious since these bikes are really hard to buy here in Arg. So spent a week to design and create this ANTI-BOMB dropouts! haa ha. Now I really want to cnc it again and remove some extra material. Will add a few shots soon
