Re: 1989 Hutch HPV Superbike
Yes, cracked on upper right side.. That's why it's hung on high shelf. Sorry, no more pictures available right now. It has 62 teeth cuz of 5 speed, like a mountain bike.

Re: 1989 Hutch HPV Superbike
comander is that a joke $400 is barly more than thay coast new. I turnd down $700 on my DB F1 wich is basicaly the same bike just no faring and a difrent brand name. haro mad one, dimond back made one , general made one , huffy mad one but hutch was the top of the line badboy. thay raced them down hill or in parking lots. road much like veledrom bike's you see in olimpics. shimano even sponserd a team of there om riders to compete. thay have a 63 tooth chain ring 5 to 6 speed rear freewheel disk wheel covers the rest of the parts are self explaning from pictures. but the hutch was the king of the F1 bikes shure wish I had a hutch hpv. ps this bike is sick even with the crack.

Re: 1989 Hutch HPV Superbike
I remember seeing an issue of the old magazine 'ACTION NOW' that had an article on the downhill craze.
Way back in the early 1980's.... these Hutch's were patterned after what a lot of guys were building up in their garages at the time.
I believe many started with a 20 inch BMX bike and welded on brackets for small sportbike fairings... Like Japanese race two strokes. Honda RS125, Suzuki RGV, Yamaha TZR, stuff like that....
I seem to remember no cranks either, just a solid bar mounted though the bottom bracket for a place to set your feet.
Id like to build an era correct recreation for fun, and to actually hit local mountain roads with!
Anyone have any information at all on that era?
