c1979 Raleigh Boxer - Mint
1979 Raleigh Boxer that is in exceptional condition. Bought off Ebay Australia for a very good price. Wasn't really looking for one, it just sort of found me. Not at all common in Australia, I reckon that it must have been a personal import from when someone emigrated over to Australia from the UK. In exceptional and original condition, everything is as it should be including the original (worn) tyres. Unfortunately the stem is slightly bent and easily fixed...

Wa-hey! a boxer! I had one in about 1980! it was yellow, i got my dad to spray it red and put some bmx stickers on it! Cheers!
It's better to say I'm glad I did...than I wish i had!

Re: 1979 Raleigh Boxer 16
My first ever bike! Learnt to ride without training wheels too! I had a yellow one and my twin bro a blue one. Funny story... out of shear coincidence, we migrated to Australia when I was 6 in '81, the Boxers came over with us. Some mongrel stole it from the local park across the road when I was about ten. Good memories mate, thanks. We loved those bikes!!! ![]()

Same thing happened to mine.. I nearly got bashed by some BIG kid who thought it used to be a 'girlie' seat ![]()

Re: 1979 Raleigh Boxer 16
i can honstly say i'd forgotten all about this bike till i had a look through the raleigh bikes section here, the memories flooded back. i'm sure i must have been only around 5 years old as it was well before i had a 20" bmx. that seat was massive for such a small bike.
