It is a beautiful cruiser. It's not, however, an 84. 83 and up had an oval down tube, and from the looks of it, different geometry. This has to be an 81-82. Sooooo pretty tho.

The PL24 didn't come out until 83(built in 82 for the 83 model year?). I'm pretty sure they did not have a cruiser before that point. I don't know what type of cruiser Rich has, but it doesn't look like any sort of Redline I know of.
Rich... whats stamped on the bottom bracket?

Re: 1984 Redline PL-24
Well Stu was riding SOMETHING during the 82 season... I wasn't in the market for a cruiser till 84 (when I got my PL-24). This does have a 5 inch headtube (the PL-24 had a 6 inch), but I'm not familiar enough whith 80 to 82 Redlines to definitively say that a ProLine cruiser doesn't exist. There are 2 listed in the museum (one Gary's ) that say they're 81 and 82, although they both appear to be 83 or later. Redline and Schwinn are the only bikes I'm aware of that came with a headtube longer than 4", and that is DEFINiTELY not a King Sting. So, Rich, how 'bout some better pics of the frame?

Re: 1984 Redline PL-24
Proto? The frame has all the signature redline stuff... forks look like another story. OP, want to chime in with the serial?
Seriously considering a torker/redline midlife crisis project ^_^
